I really start to get annoyed when he talks about how he's recording, he's making music, etc etc etc and then just nothing ever comes of it. Better to not give the fans false hope IMO

My tinfoil hat theory is that Gambino knew nothing was happening anytime soon and/or he’s so far detached from that era of music that he decided to be nice to the fans and leak it himself indirectly or something

I see this theory getting thrown around way too much about artists leaking there own music like there isn’t discord chats with fans putting in there own money for these leaks.

Problem with peoples theory of artists leaking music is that means they are willing to take 1000s of dollars from their fans. Honestly doubtful Donald had a thing to do with these leaks.

It's also possible that the producers or engineers are the ones selling these leaks and once they confirm with the artist that the song will never release, they get the go ahead to make some cash off their work

Depends really. Like if it's a song that the artist knows they can't put out due to the label blocking them or a sample clearance issue I can see an artist just leaking it out themselves or leaving it in the hands of people who will leak it.

I doubt the artists are doing it for money because what's thousands of dollars to artists like Gambino, Kanye, Rocky, Kendrick, Drake, etc? Either they leak the tracks out just cause, or they leave it to their engineers/mixers to do whatever with. Might as well get some extra scratch on top of the work they did that isn't gonna see the light of day
