These are my problems, gripes with the project
1. Intro could use a jay verse
2. Lack of just blaze production
3. Lack of features like mos, kweli, etc
4. Better in tune could fit in
5. Shiny suit is the same song from 10 years ago, could of easily added the second part of it
6. Mixing on songs are bad and they're getting drowned out in the beat. Seems like jay vocal are mix lowered than hov
But other than that, I love the album
It's even less than that its 52 jay, 35 hov, and 13 sample, guest speakers
https://twitter.com/HipHopNumbers/status/1238581305375244288That’s still not enough. That’s 50 percent which is equivalent to not being on 5 tracks. Plus Hov raps on 6 tracks. Starts the album and finishes it. There is literally a Hov only version going around.

I agree on the intro
Since I believe he’s going to heat up after the reception from the album I hope to see blaze tracks soon
I feel like features would be too much with Jay already on majority of the tracks
Shiny suit is a drag on here for the real fans tbh
Mixing is pretty bad tbh like wtf. Disappointing.
Still a classic though :
Anyone play this in their car ? How does the mixing sound? Sounds amazing on headphones and earbuds but i put it on the speaker and my speaker is old and getting weaker but i could hear the muddiness a little more. Not a bad thing to me but wondering how it translates to bigger systems
“40 days, 40 nights, tryna live up to the hype
It's the road less traveled, it's the one who missed the flights
Hov hit me up like, "What, you scared of heights?
Know your sister tired of workin', gotta do her something nice"
I'm like, "Don't he know I stay up for Fallon late nights?"
She need bread, she need rice, she need threads, she need ice
Either tell it to my bank account or say it to the dice
When I lay down in my bed it's like my head in the vice
When I look inside the mirror all I see is flaws
When I look inside the mirror all I see is Mars
In the wee hours of night, tryna squeeze out bars
Bismillah, just so y'all could pick me apart?”

Hov being the first and last thing u hear on the album isnt that big of deal especially when the last thing said was just a chorus repeating. I mean for a example the first word said on MBDTF was nicki and the last thing said on that album was Gill scott like features can be the first and last voice on albums and if we being technical the first thing said on the album was farrakhan
I feel like ya too caught up in the idea that its hov being the one taking up this 35% of the words
But I bet for many other albums the artist is taking about the same amount as jay while the features in total add up to hov percentage
You can consider the album a jay elect project featuring Hov but I wouldnt say it's a collab album more that hov hop on it. Just like how people were saying wattba was just a future project with drake on it. The project is completely jay elect style not hov. I see how u can call it a collab but it's not really either way I'm glad hov is on it
ok i really f*** with this album

same. i can't stop listening to it wtf. KSG and Daytona had same affect on me.
Hov acts as a keynote speaker for Jay on Ghost of Soulja Slim. It’s executed very well and it makes sense for Jay to have Farrakhan as the intro portion of his album.
Keep Hov verse on Soulja Slim in mind when reading this
“A keynote in public speaking is a talk that establishes a main underlying theme. In corporate or commercial settings, greater importance is attached to the delivery of a keynote speech or keynote address. The keynote establishes the framework for the following programme of events or convention agenda; frequently the role of keynote speaker1 will include that of convention moderator. It will also flag up a larger idea—a literary story, an individual musical piece, or event.
At political or industrial conventions and expositions and at academic conferences, the keynote address or keynote speech is delivered to set the underlying tone and summarize the core message or most important revelation of the event. Keynote speeches are also given at the graduation and commencement ceremonies of colleges, universities, and major high schools, usually by accomplished academics or celebrities invited by the student body. These speeches are often called a commencement speech.
Keynote speakers are often selected to raise interest in a particular event, such as a conference or large meeting sponsored by a corporation or association, and draw attendees to attend that program. Selecting a keynote speaker who is well known for his or her expertise in a particular field, or who has wide name recognition due to other accomplishments, will probably raise enthusiasm among prospective attendees for a meeting or conference. Increasingly the word keynote is being used as a synonym for plenary session or "invited talk," with some conferences having an opening keynote, a closing keynote, and many other keynotes.” from Wiki

Lol I’m not reading all of that. Let’s just agree to disagree. The internet calling this a collab so I will as well. You can refer to you as you wish.
@Scarves i remember u once had a post talking about ppl hearing act 2 and tearing up and now im imagining an album full of a.i.p.t.d.a's and we need that
Who knows what the future holds.
I mean hopefully this reception gives him confidence in releasing more music in the future.
