Reminder that Hov really washed this nigga.

  • Mar 15, 2020

Hov is incredible ffs. Beautiful album but I'm not able to call it Jay Elec's debut. Jay killed him on every song

  • Mar 15, 2020

Still can’t believe the high level Electronica is rapping at. Smh.

Never ending story is something different.

It’s intentional tbh, that’s always been DIY-homeless-raw Jay style

Gurus a top engineer; if they wanted a different sound they would have got it

He’s not lmao, dudes super overrated. People think he’s top tier because of the HOV co-sign. Ofc this is just my opinion

He mixed MCHG. It was one of the best quality mixed projects last decade. And Jay never had a "bad mix" discussed album until 4:44 and the people weren't used to Jay being that raw

  • Mar 15, 2020

Do my speakers suck or does this album really have some sound troubles?

It’s aight, but wouldn’t say it’s on the level of Paperwork, FHD, TC, or TPAB.

Jay also had several albums with bad mixing prior to 4:44 like TBA and BP3

First time I ever heard someone complain about TBA or BP3's mixing tbh.

However I do think Ali is rap engineer of the decade. What he did on Atrocity Exhibition

It’s insane how consistent he has been. Where you do rank him currently in hip hop?

Yea, Compton sucked in that regard

Btw whoever mixes T.I’s albums is up there too. Paperwork and The Dime Trap sounds fantastic imo

Dre got an army of producers and engineers behind him. I'm scared to think how much goat talent and amazingbeats he is just hoarding.

Knxwledge was a producer of his and he gave him hundred of beats he never used. Then as soon as he goes out on his own he got classics with so many artists

Don't think so. I really think they just went in a diff direction. All the Just and Kanye songs are on a hard drive somewhere

Also shocked we ain't get a Dilla rip. All we got were soundfx references to him

Dilla beats style “stuck” in 00s tbh
