Nah I mean like missy and kanye didn’t really produce the bulk of the beat, it was some producer from the 90s/2000s and he even made a couple posts about it on his ig about how it was stolen from him but I can’t find it

    That's wild

    @Sk8brdKee @Beach_kneega

Found it. So the OG producer was this guy named Minnesota (did records for Pun, Ghostface, Mos Def, list goes on). He claims he did the original sample flip but since it's an uncleared sample he couldn't really pursue any charges. He thinks it might've happened because he left a beat CD at a studio during his time with Mos Def and Kanye heard it and ripped it. He said when he saw Kanye after the record came out and he was shook. Mos even told him to his face that he stole his man's beat

He even talks about how he had a similar flip as the The Corner by Common but says it's probably a coincidence.

the real talk about the beat starts at 19:05 if the timestamp don't work

Keep in mind it's still plausible that he ain't steal it, but given Ye's history with stealing fashion designs and musical ideas from people under him I think it's true.

  • Jan 7, 2023

I’ve known for years now but I remember as a kid finding out Ye didnt produce Touch The Sky

  • Jan 7, 2023

Thought this was gonna be devil in a new dress

  • Jan 7, 2023

This is crazy it’s like a hybrid of a Ye beat and a Neptunes beat

  • But he did produce the heaven for Scarface and cold blood , n guess who’s back was the first time Mike Dean mixed his beat

im shook, because it definitely sounds like Ye made it.

But if he ain't made that beat, then I'll be sad.

Man, you can't tell me Jay wouldn't hop on this beat. I still found it wild that Mary Mary had this beat

Kanye is a fraud the original Travis Scott I don’t think he made a single beat in his life
    Brian “all day” Miller
    BoogzDaBeast
    88 Keys
and I’m sure many other small producers from Chicago and NYC that we don’t know

he also stole a beat from evidence and put it on his first album he’s a talentless hack and not a “music genius” I’m glad his careers in the gutter being hateful piece of s***!

Didn’t he take most of his early drum kits from Dre?

  • Jan 7, 2023

I wouldn't even call myself a Ye fan anymore but if he didn't produce The Games We Play I'd be devastated, did some research a while back tho and all signs point to it being a chop by him

he borrowed this cant be life pattern from xxplosive but i never heard that most of his drums from back then were taken

imo ye uses a lot more varied percussion that dre like i love the way he uses bongos in slow jamz and the dj scratches in the beat i linked
