I think the key is in HOW the opinion is conveyed not the opinion itself

Let's take one of the most "controversial" artist of KTT - J.Cole - for example

You make a thread saying he is TOP3 in the game. Some might disagree with you.

But user A is going to say "Yeah... I don't agree with that. He makes great music but I don't think he deserves the spot in TOP3".
Answer like this will only start a civil discussion without anyone feeling hurt, attacked or mad.

But then comes user B (which is 80% of KTT users) who will go straight into " J.Cole TOP3 OP IS *ED IF HE THINKS TRASH J.COLE IS TOP3".

In the second example not only do you feel hurt but also personally attacked and feel the need to respond - hence getting mad

I think it's all about not being a d*** to the other person and no matter how opposite are your opinions you can always have a discussion without anyone getting mad

Now imagine instead of writing this long answer I'd simply say

"OP is a p**** for caring about others people opinions lmao trash thread"

Putting aside wether this is true or not (because neither of us actually know), this doesn't make it right. If we don't learn how to handle differing opinions without resorting to feelings of upset them we are doomed to repeat the same mistakes as our ancestors i.e. wars, fighting, segregation etc

We all have different experiences in life which contributes to how we feel on certain subjects. If someone doesn't like that new Weeknd album it just means it doesn't resonate with them the same way it might do for you. Your opinion isn't now incorrect and neither is theirs
