Song's pretty good, just wish we had the new PTA video. Still 2 more weeks
WHAT
I like the new song, and I’ve enjoyed the other singles, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t hoping for a more energetic album with the songs they were previewing live.
maybe they’re being saved and reworked for Radiohead’s next album.
I love the tempo changes on the recent singles, very cool.

That being said I'm super excited to hear the studio versions of Teleharmonic and Under Our Pillows
The mixing on both of these recent singles feels a lot more broad stroke and 'in your face' than what we've become familiar with from Thom and co.
I felt like the studio versions of ALFAA songs fell flat because Nigel was trying to mix The Smile like a Radiohead album but Sam Betts-Davies seems to be taking things in the complete opposite direction. Many of those songs like Skrting on the Surface were so much more textured when played live. I feel similarly about this new single after hearing it live 4 times

Read the Room and Under Our Pillows should be fast-paced at least. Leaving Bodies Laughing, Colours Fly, and Just Eyes and Mouth off the album does mean they took out 3 of the most energetic songs from the tour.
Teleharmonic will be slower but will be gorgeous if they don't mess it up.

Very interesting how divisive the production seems to be. Half of the fanbase seems to be loving Sam's work while the other half seems to be really not liking it.
I didn't love it on Bending Hectic and they fixed it slightly for the album (still not perfect). The other two are produced just fine imo though.
How is the smile?
I can't bring myself to listen to it.
....
I personally can't stand nigel's production
Hal to the thief unmmastered is a masterpiece.
I was with someone who f***ed me up mentally and radiohead was used on me to get me in the mood so to speak.
I hadn't listened to radiohead in a year so not a giant loss.
My AiC phase was incredible.
Interesting band name: the SMiLE
I always considered them (radiohead), as direct lineage to Brian Wilson.
However I relate almost all music to Brian Wilson because of his sonic perfection.

I’m with you on the Bending Hectic mix, definitely fell a little flat.

I'm currently listening Read the Room and it's so good. Curious if it'll be mine as well when I finish the album

song structure absolutely f***ing crazy
Thom Yorke is doing another film score. For an Italian film called Confidenza.
Oddly, there's no news on any stateside or international release for it. And the filmmaker's previous work is largely unavailable for international viewing. Hate that.

it took YEARS to finally track down Arcade Fire's score from Her
scores are always hard to find

I mean, the score will probably be released.
