God this is amazing so far

  • Haven’t listened but the album artwork for this is soooooo much better than the first smile project. Really hated how basic that one was

I kinda wish Bending Hectic never dropped as a single, especially as far ahead of the album release as it did. I can't imagine how hard that first listen would've hit in the context of the album

album f***s hard, personally enjoy it more than LP1

didn't listen to the singles so first listen of the 8 minute song was an incredibly mindblowing experience

thom yorke is 55 years old and still sounds like how he did in the 90s, impeccable

This is definitely the superior album. I still really enjoy the first album, but this one just hits all the right notes for me. It's more focused, and sounds like its own entity separate from Radiohead in the best way possible.

really not sure what even has a chance, i guess the new avalanches album might do it but I doubt it makes 2024

    First listen, raw thoughts

Absolutely stunning album. I listened back to A Light earlier today and I’m very glad I did now. This feels like a perfect evolution into a more focused exploration of their sound. Jonny is the clear star here imo, but every single person involved with this record is clearly operating at 110% with pure passion.

I already know I’ll be listening to this all year. God damn.

I expect to love the new carti album very much but it’s not gonna be fair to compare it to this lol. I’m sure it’ll be great and honestly the hype is so high it’ll definitely boost my enjoyment for it but it’s like comparing a burger to a steak which are both great in their own ways but one is just on a higher level

Music to unlock portals to. So much to wrap my head around but I love how Sam Petts-Davies mixing sounds in the context of the album way more than I did when I only heard the singles.

Thom's melodies and vocal choices took such different form on here compared to what we know of his defined songwriting style - it feels as if he's approaching songwriting from the lens of cinema or an ensemble on these tracks instead of for a more traditional/guitar-driven format. Don't know how to really put language to it yet but the prospect of unwrapping this further is exciting

Beautiful album. Zero filler. Every detail added to this feels important

human voices are naturally not supposed to change much at all over time. with trained singers their ranges even expand. don’t know if he smokes or drinks but not doing that is 100% the best way to ensure this. voices changing when people grow old is almost always from d*** use

example: Joni Mitchell’s voice progression, versus Stevie Wonder as a 26 year old performing Love’s In Need Of Love Today versus a performance he did around the pandemic. nigga literally sings it in a HIGHER key as an old man
