If Drake dropped a 60 song album and did 1M units first week people would absolutely put an asterisk on that s***
Track length 100% plays a factor in album success in the streaming era
Which is absolutely braindead because not many artists can pull off a 60 track album. Kendrick/Weeknd/Travis would never ever be able to pull off a 30 track album without people panning the f*** out of it being boring as f***
2023/2024 was also Taylor's commercial prime lol, she was never bigger than those years so idk your point
Midnights was also about 30 tracks with its Deluxe(s), again released during her absolute prime. 3b streams in its first 8 months. You're literally hating just to hate lol.
TTPD was not well received, plus it was released at a time when people were starting to get Taylor fatigue. That was smack dab in the middle of the Eras Tour, after the Super Bowl, and after four straight years of her dropping new studio albums and Taylor’s Versions
never doubted that
but you doubt the fact Bad Bunny isn't a megastar in non spanish countries
The guy is doing stadium performances in numerous non-Spanish speaking countries. France, Poland, Japan, Sweden, Italy, Belgium, etc.
You can’t sell out a stadium in a country if you not a megastar there or damn close to it

Nobody is discussing the quality of the record, we’re talking about the commercial performance. Drake still outstreams pretty much everyone 17 years into his career, even if his albums gets great reviews or s***ty reviews. If he pulled a Morgan and dropped a 37 song album, he would have an insane amount of streams in 8 months as well

Yeah and they weren't well received because the albums were too samey and she doesn't have the range to do a 30 track album, whilst artists like Drake/Sza/Morgan can, it's not as easy as just releasing extra tracks and getting extra streams for it

It’s literally as simple as that if you’re an artist as big as any of these people
2026 and you still denying the correlation between track number and streaming total

odd because you just said TTPD/Midnights didn't do Morgan numbers because they weren't well received.. which means the quality of the record wasn't there, and it wasn't there because the albums were too long
She went back to releasing a short album and look how different the reception is, because that's all she's capable of

No, it’s less to do with that and more to do with Taylor fatigue at the time. She was everywhere all of the time from the end of 2022 to the end of 2024. People were burnt out on new Taylor music for the most part

Why aren't Morgan fans getting burned out on him then
it's been 5 years of doing peak Taylor streaming numbers every single year
What is the subtext of this argument cause yall are talking about numbers so it has to be something else to go on this long lol

@mangotflu is saying that Morgan’s feat of 6.2B streams in 8 months for I’m the Problem combined with his three recent albums outselling all projects by Weeknd/Kendrick/Drake this year is the most impressive feat in streaming history.
Myself and several others are saying that it’s not as impressive when you step back and look at how ridiculously bloated in track length all three of those albums are

Morgan is nowhere near as overexposed as Taylor Swift was from 2022-2024 come on man
He drops his albums, goes on his tour, and then ducks out the way
Taylor’s face was all over everyone’s screens for two straight years, and it even bled over into the biggest sport in the country

Nah this is par for the course for the sales thread lol some of these arguments go on for months as certifications keep getting updated
#interesting #morestreamsthohefelloff?

@mangotflu believes that Bad Bunny is irrelevant outside of Spanish-speaking areas
i mean... i doubt they playin him in china
