If you're an indie artist and just released a 20-song album, one person would would have to listen to it from start-to-finish about seventeen times for you to make $1 on Spotify (20 streams x $0.003 = $0.06 / $1 ÷ $0.06 = 16.67)

Whereas if you're an indie artist getting some buzz and you drop a limited release of CDs and vinyl, each singular purchase is at least $10 straight into your pocket
