If Khaled had only released Popstar first week and had bundled it would’ve started at #1 and this wouldn’t even be a debate

Does it though? With that logic 69's Trollz song is more successful than What's Poppin' by Jack Harlow or Laugh Now Cry Later by Drake or Life is Good by Future

I imagine the gap in “everything else” is much larger between Trollz and the ones you mentioned

Even still, IMO how close the point total's are (estimated 88 point lead for Scotts with a 3 month advantage), and how much better Popstar is doing week to week, outweigh's the #1 vs the #3

Too many songs peaked at #1 this yr just fall tf off the week after

Estimated total of 118 this past week, I think it will overtake Scotts in total in a few weeks.

Yes, but the Scott's came out 3 months before Popstar. And the (estimated) gap is only 88 points with a 3 month advantage. So is it really doing better?

take radio away and see what its at lmao

OP: the songs were equally successful

Also OP: which one was more successful

  • Oct 14, 2020

Well one is receiving 2.5x the daily plays on Spotify so that says something about what people are playing

Ecactly, it's insane how well it succeeded during the eye of the pamdemic, a majority of us were on our lowest point emotionally and financially in the days leading up to it.

The Scotts wasn't a real #1 song and it's evident because of how hard it fell off after it's first week. It's not even on the hot 100 anymore while Popstar is still there at #34.

If we're just talking about relevancy both didn't have much of an impact (The Scotts was not the first virtual concert). The Scotts came and went and while Popstar wasn't that memorable, people are still listening to it since it's still at #34 on the charts.

I think you have to weigh in others factors such as the cultural event of THE SCOTTS. Never have we seen such a rollout for a single in hip-hop.
Like the song or not but the Fortnite event had me really impressed.

Also the song is CuDi's first number one single so therefore the song made history and that's why I pick THE SCOTTS.
