If TPAB had just a couple more tracks it probably would have been a straight up double album.

I mean if he had just finished? Or used like half of those untitled unmastered tracks could’ve easily made it a double album or u can kinda consider that the second part to the album anyway

Yeah, but I think nowadays once you hit 80+ minutes is typically when an album becomes a double disc

Same thing whenever I listen to Exile On Main Street.

London Calling is supposed to be a double album too.

Prince by a mile and a half

His unreleased material/b-sides are better than a lot of people’s discographies

i think this actually is a gateway to a much broader convo on

"can music be universal in these times? what does universal music sound and look like?"

im not sure, considering every niche is available to tap into at all times

how do artists with global reach, create works of art that speak to the human experience, when everyone can tap into a work of art that specifically speaks to them, no matter how niche

it’s crazy in terms of popular music just due to how we consume via streaming i really dont think theres been a time where there’s ever felt like such a lack of zeitgeist

I feel like this era will be the death of the celebrity

s*** like this makes me believe Prince was truly the GOAT. he was writing potential hit songs left and right while keeping them in the vault. HE WAS THAT GUY

kanye has an amazing vault for modern music but once you become a prince head and really invest your time into all his unreleased material, you begin to understand that music was as easy for him as speaking is for us

dude just spoke music straight up, like it was innate to his being or something

and when i say music, i don't just mean writing/producing/playing i mean like every single part of musicality, he mastered with such a proficiency we have yet to see again

im not even just d***riding, u just have to begin to explore that world for yourself

once you even as much as dabble into it, this doesnt even become a question

this is coming from someone whose obsessed with kanye and on top of damn near every leak from every era

I don’t know celeb culture seems bigger than ever no other gen could we have s*** like we do now like that constant album cycle s*** Kanye does wasnt even possible 20 years ago imagine if Tupac could sell out msg to play all eyez on me live or something before it dropped and had Twitter and ig, we can connect with celebs easier now than ever

but the value of celebrity is decreasing, as anyone can have (not a kanye level obviously) a certain degree of celebrity to them these days, so what it means to be a celebrity is def changing
