???
maybe u seen some s*** i haven’t
always thought they said s*** was about d***ie
Facts lmao the early reports from last year were that it was about D***ie with Tony being sprinkled in there. Then I thought things changed with the marketing but I knew what they were doing so I’m not surprised at all. D***ie was interesting
this was good but with such strong ideas presented they really could’ve been executed better.
Also Silvio and Paulie kind of took me out of the movie at times. I understand they were apart of that era but their lines should’ve really been limited to little to none. Sirico and Stevie are just irreplaceable.
D***ie, Livia and pretty much everyone else killed it though. A lot of great scenes and context in this, definitely a good watch
The reason Junior whacks D\*\*\*ie is so f\*\*\*ing utterly stupid
Shit literally pissed me the f\*\*\* off
I feel like the laugh was the breaking point, but there were points leading up to it that could've been better fleshed out. I think his issues with D\*\*\*ie first started when Johnny got out of jail and was railing on him for all the black people moving into the neighborhood, and he compares Junior's work to how D\*\*\*ie did after his dad got whacked (not knowing that D\*\*\*ie did it of course). Next would be when Paulie made that joke about Junior's girl f\*\*\*ing niggas behind his back, and D\*\*\*ie kinda eggs it on further by saying he doesn't know about Junior if he's gonna let Paulie get away with a joke like that. IMO, they should've did a better job of allowing the audience to see how those moments also effected him, rather than it being strictly about him falling and D\*\*\*ie laughing at him.

Nah bro they definitely marketed this as “Tony being taken under the wings of D***ie” prequel movie.
Halfway through the movie and barely been any Tony. I’ve seen Leslie Odoms character way more than him thus far

Also you pretending you didn’t watch the official trailer?

Based off the trailer Anybody would think that movie is mainly about Tony as a teen with D***ie being the side character.

I never said that. I said halfway through and they’ve barely shown him.
Look you asked why I thought it was based on Tony, clearly they marketed it that way. You can’t tell me the trailer and synopsis doesn’t showcase that.

this is a valid critique tbh. refresh my memory, but did they say how D***ie died in the show? I thought it was an overdose cause he was a junky or something

Tony told Christopher that a retired cop killed him, Chrissy killed him in his home that same episode we don't know for sure or not whether Tony knew the truth about D\*\*\*ie dying

it did but if you read on what the movie was gonna be about prior, you would have known this wasn’t gonna be about Tony like that. For marketing purposes, they made the trailer seem like that because of newer fans watching the show imo

that’s right, that was a major plot and that was chrissy’s first kill if I remember. Hmm that opens the door for more questions huh

Nah Chrissy's first was the Pollack, but it IS important because of something else you said Christopher thought his dad was a junky. He thought that because Livia found the Elavil in his pocket during the funeral. Why'd he have it? Because he was finally going to give it to Tony.
The point being, everything we knew about D\*\*\*ie Moltisanti prior to this movie being released was a lie.

Nah I didn’t read interviews on it, nor should anyone need to. They marketed it the way they did, that’s on them. I mean I get it, but niggas saying it’s misleading shouldn’t be a surprise.
not a tony movie
thought that was clear
Nah they announced it as a d***y movie but they’ve been promoting it as a Tony origin story all this year
Ay this was pretty good, I’m happy that I read the comments and went into it with this is it’s own thing in my mind made the experience so much more enjoyable
but I do agree the story could of been better, I feel like they focused heavy on Chris and me personally that would of been nice of a part of the story not the whole storyline
I watched it with someone that never watched the show and they enjoyed it😭🤷🏿♂️
Had no idea that was Billy magnussen playing Paulie. He was one the more interesting characters in this. Especially how this nigga was busy doing his nails while at dinner of all places
awesome movie. wish we saw more of tony when he was high school age. i was expecting a little more tbh

if i remember christopher says his dad was walking out carrying something and then just got shot.

We all were
If i never watched the sopranos i definetly would have strongly disliked this and would have no idea wtf is going on
We all were
its still a strong 8/10 for me, or around that rating.
but off of the trailer i was expecting to see more where high school tony channels what we see when hes older in the tv show. his temper, rage, how impulsive he could be etc.
dont wanna get into too much and spoil anything, but you know what i mean
