Movie didn’t HAVE to exist, but it’s still good. Any Sopranos that isn’t s*** I will gladly watch. Need them to milk it like Star Wars. Give me a Sopranos game.

there was one for ps2 and psp i think.

Still can't believe Jun did this to D***ie just coz his ass fell down the stairs lmao

Lmaoooo it’s funny cuz Junior really was this f***ing petty on the show too

Just small s*** would set him off

  • went in with low expectations but thought this was pretty good. some storylines could've used more or less attention, but overall it was an entertaining backstory to the Moltisantis and Sopranos plus it was fun as hell to be back in that world and see those characters again

Spoilers below since I always forget how to use the spoiler tags

Let me start with Christopher narrating the film was haunting loved how it started, with thats tony he choked me lmfao.

The actors and actresses that play johnny boy, tony soprano, Livia and D***i Moltisanti were great.

Junior was awfull. The actor was awful. And the way he was written was awful. He seemed like a dumb buffoon, which we all knew he wasnt.

There were certain things I didnt understand. The relationship between D*** Moltisanti and the black guy (forgot his name). They seemed to be working well together at the start of the movie? And then it al went to s***? There didnt seem any conclusion to it. IMO the entire story with the revolution and bla bla couldve been dropped. I was only interested in the italian characters

Also how did D***ie parade the goomar? It was his father's wife. Surely that was frowned up on? Even I felt betrayed when she cheated.

Honestly D***ie was a fascinating character and its a damn shame that we dont get a mini series.
To be able to see more of Johnny and D***ie. The come up of Tony, Jackie and Silvio wouldve been amazing

I felt really bad for D***ie. I guess his talks with his uncle was some sort of Melfi sessions. His death was also f***ing bullshit. You dont take a made guy out like that. Junior knows and plays by the rules.

How big is Jon Berthnals role in this?

Small. Shouldve had a bigger role. Shouldve been a mini series

Am I stupid or does Chris not visit his mom in the show? D\*\*\*ie drowns his birth mom (?) in the movie so is this just retconned or what? I feel either I’m trippin or there are a lot of contradictions in the show and the movie

D***e kills his goomar. Not the mother of his child

His skill aside, he unequivocally DID study his dad’s performance as Tony. David Chase and Michael have talked about it extensively

The face touching etc. It was obvious it was studied and I think he did a good job

D***ie was popular so no one questioned it I guess

Betrayed though? His father was an abusive piece of s*** lol

The movie made a mistake introducing the Harold subplot. It would have worked in a miniseries but as a film it completely felt incongrous to Tonys story.

I mean a young black man starts out a runner for the mob becomes tangentially involved in the civil rights movement, starts competing against the mafia with his own numbers game and starts a syndicate that rivals the mob. Thats Bumpy Johnsons story more or less.

But trying to condense Harolds story left too many plotholes. It was too easy to convince his cousin and friends to oppose the mob. When they got killed he hardly blinked. He slept with D***ies Goomar without condidering the consequences. All of this when the mob was still strong. Where were the hit squads or the turf wars. Its like they deliberately took it easy on Harold. Also There wasnt enough time spent developing his character, his motivation or his growth. But its not his story and focusing on him would detract from Tonys story.

A good idea but ultimately it didnt fit in with the film.

    Comment on reddit. Fully agree

    Ohhh my bad I misread

Well they were always eyeing each other. At Satriales, then at the club and at the garage. And it was a way to get back at D***ie for both of them. Made sense to me.

I know Italians gossip but d***y being remembered as a junkie just cuz they found pills on him when he was dead despite no behavior that ever even hinted at d*** use is waaaaaayyyyyy far fetched

Her telling him after a romantic dinner was the dumbest scene of the movie. Maybe blurring it out during a big argument in the heat of the moment would be one thing but WHY THE F*** would you tell him that and not expect to be killed

He prolly woulda killed her no matter who it was but the fact it was not only a black dude and one he had history with, AND one he was in a war with? Lmfao

yea, you call someone an addict if its well known that they abuse d****. seems far fetched that hes called a d*** addict from then on because they found pills in his pocket thats also used for medication.

Indeed, look at everything it took for Christopher to be viewed as a d***gie, countless times showing up looking f***ed up, weird speeches that go nowhere, showing up late or no showing, unpredictability ect

A stand up guy gets pills found on him after being shot and suddenly he s remembered as a junkie? Gtfoh lmao

It would have made sense if he just turned to alcohol and d**** and was a secret addict later in life before he died.

Had fun watching. Was nice seeing all the characters back. But if they wanted this to have a real impact on the sopranos story it shoulda been a miniseries.
