In the wake of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, everybody got their eyes on the design of the main character and the product placements. The latter is concerning but the former is a typical response from that audience who spews hatred to anything that is of color and seasoning
However, one thing that has given me a sense of joy is the art design. It's gritty, yet has a whimsical edge . A photo-realistic Sci-Fi world blended with graphical fluidity —this is shockingly a breath of fresh air. This par for the course of Naughty Dog. Who have always, since the PS1 days, have taken advantage of the systems capabilities.
What makes it even more apparent is that in the Intergalactic trailer, there is a shot of Jordan going up against a robot.
This design will bring back memories. Where have we seen this from?
Yep, these are unreleased Jak 4 designs, and they are finally being used. One of the reasons I love art. The ability to rework that didn’t work before and incorporated into a another piece that fits that energy. It makes me wonder if we'll see more of those Jak 4 designs come to life
It makes me happy to see that the franchise has gotten some sense of callbacks. Hopefully there will be a mission where we as the player have to rescue Ottsels from being abducted and experimented for unethical reasons.
Jak without Andy and Gavin
Jak 2&3 good post OP, that concept art looks scarily similar to the robot in the video. I personally like the product placements though
adds a classic cyberpunk trope feel to it, mixing real world companies with invented ones.

The product placements aren't necessarily as bad as people have said imo. The Sony one made sense but I think the others still feel a bit out of place.
OP laughing at niggas wanting Jak 4 instead of a soulslike movie game
Whole industry and its consumers washed

Hold up
Who said I was laughing at niggas
I'm showing that the legacy of Jak is still on. A new one would be welcomed

I meant that it was humorous to see the craving of a new Jak. Great seeing the franchise still thought of

Especially after astro bot being like....far and away the best-received (exclusive) PS5 joint, it's only right to want to see a return to that (meaning Jak), sly cooper, ape escape, even infamous
Sony's game design philosophy is getting very homogenous amongst the IP

I agree. I missed when Sony had a variety of IPs instead of the tired over the shoulder 3rd Person camera that'splaguing their games
I hate that they're trying to be like the MCU in terms of delivery

Looking at them individually, not like they make bad games at all. It's just they're getting samey, and less "video game" overall. Way bigger focus on mocap, set pieces, on rails/scripted stuff. I wanna explore a crazily designed level with fun movement/gameplay and they used to be very competitive in that space
Not that the game will be "shit" or whatever, but nothing about this space joint interests me based on those merits. Seems like the most modern Sony game that ever modern Sony'd. The soulslike approach that seems apparent in the trailer, does not inspire goodwill either

Yea. I'm actually big fan of Souls-like styled games. I can digest some but most I can’t

That's on PC, that's why I didn't mention it. I was talking about exclusives but I agree with you
PC the only place for platformers now tbh. Straight on steam and I'm not advocating for exclusives either btw, need everything on PC day and date. All these middle generations/non generations/slight upgrades that are necessary for certain games to play well is corporate greed and I'm not wit it
