It will be interesting to see if Tua is more comfortable in the pocket now. He used to bail out of there so quickly in his games against us. His awareness needed some work.

Flat out — if you devote a large percentage of your cap space to three players on your offense (Jonnu, Agholor, and Parker) those players better play very well (regardless of scheme and play calls). And they just haven’t.

Parker will get a longer leash since he just got here this season, but Jonnu and Agholor have no excuses since they’ve been here.

Well I’m gonna walk this back a little bit because I’d attribute the loss MOSTLY to dumb week 1 mistakes that I think we’ll be able to ultimately fix.

That being said, we have a lot of problems.

Hypothetically speaking, we have problems that have solutions, but it is going to take a lot of work to get there. This game was ugly. There is no excuse for Parker to play as poorly as he did. Also, you have to put Bourne out there. He is our most dynamic receiver. He made an impact the minute he was on the field.

As for Mac’s play today, he was moving around in the pocket well, made good decisions, and had a lot of really nice throws. But at the same time he also had some very very poor throws, and missed some audibles he should have made.

Overall I’d say he looks like he has the potential to take a step forward from last season if he can get past the week 1 jitters that the whole team seemed to have.

Also, was obviously a huge relief to see Jonnu making some huge plays in the second half. Need way more of that going forward (disappointed that they still took him off the field in some key red zone plays).

the injuries to adrian phillips and mac jones are concerning - hopefully neither will miss games. otherwise, nothing too alarming. I saw a lot of potential, and given that we aren't SB contenders this year, I'm not living and dying by every win/loss. onto the next.

Yup. Been sayin this since Brady left. We’ve been spoiled with 20 years of contention. If we have to stink for a few years till we find our new identity then so be it. I’m not trippin, just enjoying the ride

I won't be so forgiving if we stink in 2023, though. I'm looking at next year as the year we should reload and things should come together around Mac while he's still on his rookie deal.

And this year, even if playoffs aren't going to happen I would like to see us finish 9-8 instead of 7-10. Play competitively and learn how to win close games.

Btw I'm not saying playoffs are off the table. 10 wins is still very possible, even though I think 8 or 9 wins is more likely. We need a win vs the Steelers next week. Weeks 3 and 4 vs Baltimore and @Green bay won't be as easy as the steelers.
