I just... I can’t figure out why Cam is still taking meaningful snaps. He is awful. He’s not going to change, he’s not going to improve. This is what he is. It’s agonizing to watch.
He’s better than Stittham tho

I think it’s more the receivers than him. Who is he throwing to?
Cam has had some bad throws but he’s been one of our best players this year tbh

do you want him back next year?
Still in the playoff hunt
It’s cool that you wanna root for wins still, but you’re setting yourself up for massive disappointment if you think we can still get in the playoffs tbh lol. It would take a MASSIVE collapse by the teams currently in the playoff hunt for us to get in.

This I agree with to a large extent though. This is truly one of the worst group of skill players ever assembled on an nfl team of all time. So it’s tough to judge Cam too harshly. What he’s done at times with this pee wee squad is pretty amazing.
That being said, there were also times that he has been solely responsible for some of the collapses himself.
All that said, I’d be very curious to see what Cam could do with an actual nfl level offense next season if he signed another modest deal, especially if no QB drops to us in the draft. Stidham is garbage and there’s not much else out there so I don’t see the point in letting him go unless he wants a high level contract.

I'm not against it. I think it's an option we should consider. I dont think cam is the s*** or anything but I still think he's a top 15 QB (roughly), and with what we're paying him this year he's a complete steal.
i dont think it makes sense to have any expensive veteran QB on our payroll with this receiving corp. we might as well develop someone young if we're not going to put a championship-caliber WR/TE corp on the field.
but lets say we do re-load, somehow, and get good receivers next year. I wouldn't be opposed to Cam being our QB. I don't want him long term but if we use him as our starter for one more year, I'm not opposed. idk what cam will command on the open market. maybe 12-15 mil? if we could extend him for $5-8 mil next year I would sign him right now.

You really think there’s a team out there willing to give Cam more than 10 mil after this disappointing season he’s had? :word:
(Again, I’m of the opinion a lot of it was not his fault personally).

idk, hard to say. what did glennon get a while back, 3/45?
I would guess someone will give Cam 10 mil, yea. that's still a basement price for a starting QB. as long as he finishes the season healthy. he'll be 32 next season. I think there's a modest market for him.
I know N’keal isn’t good but how is it possible he’s THIS bad
Yeah he has all the physical tools. Idk how Bill and his scouts f***ed up this bad on projecting him working in the NFL/Pats System.

I watched him in ASU too I genuinely thought he’d be good smh
I wanted metcalf from the jump but I was still hype af when I got the notification we drafted Harry. S*** been a massive bust
remaining schedule:
at Chargers
at Rams
at Dolphins
Bills
Jets
realistically we would need to go 4-1 the rest of the way to have a shot at the playoffs. even at 9-7 we will probably not make it, but it's damn sure possible depending on how the fins, ravens and raiders finish.
but idk that 4-1 is in the cards. I look at that schedule and see 3 wins if we play well.
but hey maybe edelman will come back and give us a spark in the passing game

Depends tbh. If we make some WR and DL improvements I say he can stay. If we rolling out Byrd and Meyers again next year as our top guys I gotta go with stid
He’s better than Stittham tho
Is he, though? As a passer, in 2020, do you honestly think Cam Newton is an NFL starting quarterback? He hasn’t given us any reason to think he is. Stidham hasn’t looked good in garbage time, but I think you need to give him one game as the starter. Let him take the first team reps and prepare as the starter. If he’s not good, at least you know. Cam cannot run this offense at the level it needs to operate.

9-7 ain’t making the playoffs fam
Browns somehow have a 3 game advantage over us (could be more depending on tie breakers and still play the Giants and Jets). Ravens only difficult game left is against the Steelers (whenever it eventually gets played lol). And the Colts schedule has enough games left against average teams that they can definitely get at least 3 wins.

I agree we don’t have good skill players, but the thing is that argument goes both ways. Cam has to make it as easy for the receivers as possible, and he’s incapable of doing that. He is wildly inaccurate on shorts throws, he misses wide open guys, he constantly throws at guys ankles, and even when he hits guys down the field they’re not exactly accurate throws. Byrd had to make a serious adjustment on the deep pass to him against Houston. Byrd also should have had that catch against Arizona, but Cam was so off target that he led Byrd out of bounds. He was open. If Cam threw it to the right it would have been an easy completion. These guys are getting separation despite not being elite. Everyone has to do their jobs, and Cam isn’t doing his as a passer a lot of the time.
Edit: there was also that screen pass during the final drive. There were yards for James White to pick up, but Cam was so off target that the pass took forever to get there and White had to jump for it.
I will say that I am more happy about us beating the Cardinals after Tom lost against the Chiefs. Bucs are going to need to eek out a wild card spot.

Honestly I blame Tampa Bay’s struggles on Arians. He is the definition of a mediocre coach. He runs a 2000s offense in 2020.
Damn, who knows if Tom knew anything about it (he probably had no idea), but that story about TB12 getting 1 mil from the covid small business program is a really horrible look.
Only good thing about a win today is that it brings Bill 1 win closer to knocking that dead piece of s*** off as coach with the most wins ever

it would boost our playoff chances to something like 20% as well
i love cam
This game made me even more disappointed we didn’t draft Murray (even tho Dugger and Uche are both looking great)
