As with every drake album, there is always a theme. However sometimes it goes over our heads because the music takes us by surprise. For instance views was supposed to show the changing seasons in Toronto. That s*** went over my head until I saw him say it in a interview.
looking over the transitions it totally felt like that. Also the cultural importance of those types of songs to Toronto.
On this one, it’s way more hidden but if you’ve ever been to a club that exclusively plays house and dance music, it makes total sense.
Usually your day starts with some lighthearted tunes that feel more sunny (the first 6 tracks). This is mimosa time my friends, before 5pm
Then out of nowhere the dj plays something that totally throws you off and creates a deeper vibe. The sun is falling, people seem to be more open. Let’s see how this goes.(second part of calling my name).
Next is getting the blood pumping (sticky) and preparing you for the night ahead.
After that you start getting deeper, you’re in full motion of the party.
You’re dancing and the drinks are flowing nonstop. The sun is setting and the night has begun (massive, flights booked, overdrive).
But the good/bad thing about clubs is you always find unsuspecting love hidden in the darkness of strobe lights and shot glasses
You feel this girl, for a moment you feel like you know her better than anyone in the room. She’s yours G. Or at this point of the party you’re already drunk enough to be thinking about your failed relationships that you still yearn for
(Down hill, tie that binds) we’re going down hill from here ladies and gents.
After that you find that your ting actually has a man and her rythymic hips are not yours to keep
That’s tuff. Or you just realize that your ex will never come back and you hurting like a b**** (liability)
Then comes the complete raunchiness of the night. This is always and will forever be after midnight, nothing good comes from this. But you make the best you can. This where night owls rejoice, the hiphop starts and you feel invincible
You’re gonna hide the emotions through toxic masculinity and 808s. (Jimmy cooks) I can’t stress about a b**** I’m a timid soul
Basically after this is just sin. You go to another bar/club or go to sleep. The night is yours. And I like this because the intro also plays like an outro to your night as well.
There you go, that’s the theme. I probably exaggerated a bit but I think Its proper.
Let me know what theme this album has. You can’t say it’s just a dance album. Be a listener/reader/watcher of art and digest what it means to you.
Love y’all 🙏
The theme is that it sucks all the way through
At least it's consistent
You are miserable man this is pathetic
Every single Drake thread you’re in just hating
Genuinely how did he hurt you this much

he caught his girl grinding on someone else to this album

It’s gotta be something along those lines
But I doubt a weirdo like him even has a girl

He honestly gave his theme but I think he needs time to step out of his/her small bubble. It all takes time

You don't see the vision yet.
But Drake is on his Thanos s*** with this album, expanding his music catalog from Rap/RnB/Dancehall/ to Dance/Deephouse.
Musicwise, he'll be inevitable

You’re hating since friday
Touch some grass and get some help
There needs to be another “hard track” other than Sticky to better fit the idea of theme you had imo
