This whole chapter would again be “acceptance”

I mean if you watch the Amazon stream you can see him obviously accepting with his arms f***ing wide open but yeah….as far as what I mean about this album

My thoughts & experience leads me to this summary

This concept is what everyone heard the first time we heard “The Weeknd”
That had ever listened to Michael Jackson before hearing his music, even young relatives were conscious enough to recognize the basic similarities in vocals at least it was crazy.

I truly believe when recording BBTM
And when Abel walked out of Marilyn Monroe’s room after writing “I Can’t Feel My face in Max Martin’s freakin mansion, that moment,

I believe that moment exactly was the real seed planted for this album as a whole.

Rather if at the moment Max screamed out
“ BILLIE F***ING JEAN!”

The whole concept again of acceptance
as I wrote in that long winded thread above

Knowing, from the start of any of this he knew he could sing like MJ which is a nice blessing
Yet also the curse of knowing he will always draw the (impossible) comparisons.
So add that with knowing
NOBODY….NOPE NO. F***ING. ONE.
will EVER be the performer that MJ was,
(But a super bowl performance came)
He can’t dance like MJ could
(….and still can’t but that’s okay, he got some lessons and found his divine bugaloo)

He could have taken this route early on as many desparate artists who went from full on control freak in Japan* trying to strike the same vein in vain, To the “Hills”
barring cinematically for videos 🇯🇵
(Probably killing off his OG fans completely and probably getting lost in some weird pop -EDM transition, without solid foundation built)

Once he gained trust in Max I think he accepted that this is what everyone wanted or might have even expected (a “sellout 80’s off the wall vibe”) some call it, but in 2022.
Yet it wasn’t time then and if it was in your face nostalgic it had to have a goddamn good gimmick.
