    This is why

i mean most biography movies aren't accurate, they just take the essence of the story

as a film fan i love the film

and because the film opened my eyes to this event, i'm going to read more about it and find out the real story

this is all you can hope for in a Hollywood "based on" story tbh.

as a film it's pretty good...some really great performances, sharp dialogue as usual from Sorkin...unfortunately the directing does leave a bit to be desired...just some weird moments like the awkward fade out during Hoffman's testimony and obviously the inaccuracies which plenty of others have pointed out...he did the same s*** with Social Network though as far as using real events and kinda creating his own drama within it so not surprising he did that here just had a better director at the helm that time around...don't think it should be a best picture contender but a screenplay nom and maybe an acting nom for Sasha and/or Eddie should be expected

even for Sorkin standards the lack of female characters getting much of anything to do or say is astonishing lmao think the girl who answered the phone at headquarters had the most lines the other being the undercover

for the love of god Redmayne needs to stop taking american roles, every time he speaks it’s like the roof of his mouth is coated with a heaping of peanut butter. it’s extremely grating.

he delivers by far the worst performance in this btw. at least JGL gets an A for effort.

also if Sorkin gets a directing nod for this then I’m literally going to kill myself, this guy has no sense of camera movement or framing in the slightest. i’ve seen episodes of network television better directed than this visual snooze fest. this man can’t even make a riot set piece come off as visually dazzling, absolutely f***ing despicable.
