Idc how long he took to make it, he didn’t have to make MOTM3. He already has entergalatic finished so he could’ve just waited to release that.
He probably truly felt in his heart that now was the time to make Man on the Moon III and that’s what you want for this kind of album. Most of his fans were content with the idea that motm3 was never happening and he came out of nowhere with it.
So I don’t think he rushed it to scrape together some dough, he knows how much this album means and he isn’t taking that lightly
If he was mentally in the right headspace i’m sure the lyrics just started rolling out easily

true, I meant in terms of cudi specifically. I guess my thought process was that its been a decade since MOTM 2 so how did this manifest?
Like was he waiting so long to finish the trilogy because he just lost interest and didnt want to do it after everyone asking about it or was it just a lack of inspiration.

Yeah this is how i feel too. With entergalactic coming out and his acting career n all there’s no reason to make this other than as a passion project as a musician. I trust he wouldn’t put half hearted s*** on MOTM3 at all, especially how he’s talked about it when asked over the years. I’m still surprised we’re getting it too

I don’t either lol I was having this convo with a friend of mine last night. I’ve never been high on the MOTM series and it’s only because of albums like PPDS that my hype for this is so tremendous. I don’t hate them. There are songs on each project that I love but I’ve just never been able to connect with them totally in the way I’ve been able to connect with some of his later work like SB2H, PPDS, KSG, Satellite Flight, etc...SB2H is my favorite Cudi album
