You can’t compare any of Cudi’s albums to the MOTM series for the simple fact that Emile wasn’t involved in any of them. MOTM3 is almost guaranteed to have Plain Pat and Emile, I think we’ll see a vast difference in the quality of production due to that. Plus let’s not forgot how big of a role they played in the series. I’m not saying that PPDS isn’t dope or that it’s production is bad but it’s a completely different vibe

well yeah, Cudi as an amateur took the reigns from his label and producers and did most of that s*** himself and that’s exactly how the album sounds. that’s also part of why i’ve loved it since it dropped, it’s such a singular project.

i don’t really look at it as a downgrade, just a hard turn into left field for him as an artist
