La FlameHis flows arent trap at all on most of these songs, except a couple of songs in the first half.
Most of his flow and delivery are very reminiscent of his earlier work. Mixtapes and first few albums.
Wondagurl does many different type of beats. An underrated producer too.
I think the production and who mixed this did a great work. Sequencing is great. Im not loving all the songs but this is a good album. With a couple of standout tracks, mostly in the second half for me.

Paper Route KMOTM1 and MOTM 2 sound completely different from one another so I’m not sure what you were expecting lol
ha! yeah like samples, darkness, instruments. it was experimental at the time so he always kept it fresh w new layered sounds but the overall sound was there and cohesive homie. go back and listen 🤣

Gulpinyall gotta realize there is no motm sound
motm1 and 2 are two of the most different sounding albums to come after one another i can think of
and if anything, the second half has plenty of similarities to his motm one style imo

Dec 11, 2020irwin3Yes a rename and then f*** it just go harder w the features, and trap sound. For example Heaven on Earth beat was made for a Young Thug feature. but this half and half s*** plus the emptiness/thin sound of the mixing and overall sound is not motm.
This some of the thickest mixing ive heard all year imo

Dec 11, 2020·editedirwin3it’s warm, it’s more of a 70s classic rockish feel to it. it’s layered and sort of experimental the mixing is more compressed. not this 808s empty as f*** try to stay relevant w the kids. album is good but it’s not motm sound bro. call it something else.
I can see why you would feel that way but feel like this album fits the scope of the times and he does it great while still mixing in the elements you noted in your post. Like Act 3 is literally that.
Maybe I rock with the album heavy because I got what I pretty much expected from Cudi this go round. Once he said MOTM 3 will be more positive, started experimenting with 808s & working with travis I already knew what it was
