I used to be a huge Cudi fan from 2009 to like 2017. I used to listen to all of his albums religiously but, to me this album just seems vapid. I felt like his previous albums/songs gave more insight into who Scott is and explain his emotional woes. Most songs just talk about how sad he is without any depth. The only song I can remember that got somewhat personal was elsie's baby boy. I knew MOTM 3 would be over hyped and couldn't live up to MOTM 1 or 2. I'm honestly disappointed in this album. PP&DS felt more like a MOTM 3 to me.

Hm. I can understand this criticism, but the way I see it is that the sadness & sorrow presented on this album doesnt go far in depth like 1 or 2 simply because that's not the focus here. Those moments are really only brought up to serve the bigger message which is recovery, thankfulness & inner peace. The first two Acts are meant to lead into the last two which has to do with those topics stated before. This is a different Cudder in a different part of his life

Sadly the case for a lot of people who claim they’re cudi fans post motm2.
Every project is compared to those two specifically instead of going into it with an open mind.

It’s why I used to say we didn’t need motm3 and it was just a title.

  • Yeah this album is really good

MOTM1 was his entire life up to that point to talk about
MOTM2 he was running around coked tf up & f***ing b****es

Now I will say yes, the album doesn’t go as in depth as those with certain things however he’s not in that stage of life anymore. In terms of him currently it’s very in depth on how partying as he used to affects him as well as how he deals with it all now.

I will take a album like this from Cudi over another MOTM2 all day every day because it means he’s better & at the end of the day I want him to be happy

the album just really ties togeter alot of the subjects that started on KSG really nicley.
of him finding his "peace" and realizing the rager days will always linger but hes now finally equipped to handle the darkness in a positive manner
    he found his balance.

PP&DS could never be MOTM III cause he himself said he was writing that album from a place he wished he was in but actually wasn't at all.

and on top of that MOTM III just really his victory lap and it solidified the second wind he caught around PP&DS era

Yes sir very well put & summed up nicely. People been trying to force PPDS as MOTM3 but this is what he wanted it to be. He waited so long I trust this was right to him.
