If I were to assume all 160 workers made $50,000 a year (in some states that's poverty, some its decent), that equates to $8,000,000 in salary per year to payout. 2 million seems quite small

don't think it's supposed to be a subsidy for the whole year of his 160 employees wages, ion think that makes sense, just when the COVID-19 frenzy & resulting economic crisis impacted Yeezy's expected revenue that he needs to pay 'em

There is more money in creating your own business than selling your product to a record label and touring a whole year non stop.

Well, even more math for you. $50,000 / 12 is $4,000 per month roughly. Multiply that by amount of employees, 160, equates to $660,000 a month. Covid has been impacting us since like March? Let's multiply that by like 4. You get ~2.5 million.

It still makes sense. all estimates but you get the idea

As if anyone would do something more useful with that money than kanye would

oh yeah it definitely does make sense, I didn't realise he had so many employees on obviously good wages lol

not sure if anyone’s said it already but: the whole situation is f***ed. the program was sloppy. many companies didn’t choose to even give an estimate of how many jobs they were saving with this program. system as a whole was botched as someone said earlier with the banks just printing cash and giving out on a very loose basis. kanye did give an estimate of how many jobs he was saving. did he need it? probably not. it’s f***ed.
edit: isn’t fair of me to say he didn’t need it. certainly could have needed it to truly keep those jobs, not sure we’d have a precise way to tell

I made an assumption on the wages for sure but $40,000 to $50,000 is entry level for office work in my state so I went with that

Money ran out quick on the first run and the big banks were really ducking around with their portals and small clients. That first 350B of whatever it was ran up in about a week.

They re up it like a month later and as far as I know there is still money available. But I have not been following it that closely anymore

Did Yeezy get the loan in that first run? Is it 100% true it got the loan or is there a chance that might be fake news?

Ok so this is not to you but for all of us. Let's not assume things. We live in a society where the individual is innocent until someone prooves the contrary.
And with this I am not saying this was incorrect from Kanye. This would go in line with "how does he spend his money on himself knowing that are people that don't have money to survive?"

I think no one want to go through this line. These news and attempts to take Kanye down come from a place of interest. The Democrats are scared because Kanye could take more votes from the Democrats than the Republicans. They are making this up through the media and more backlash is yet to come to Mr. West. Let's not be controlled by the media and let's think for ourselves. Free thinking is key in this manipulation era that we live in.

near every business that applied for the PPP got approved, as they were distributed through banks decentralized, not through the administration themselves. the fed didnt have any involvement beyond dispersing funds to banks, so blame banks (as usual). you basically just received funds equal to a fixed multiplier of your monthly payroll, assuming you had documents to verify it.
