The op title is literally referencing rap music
The title not the description. It’s more than rap deeper it’s about the food we eat how we talk how we were raised the air we breathe it’s deeper than rap
You need a swirly like the old days
Nah people I went to school with knew how to behave
We need to take into consideration that there are exceptions to the rules, of course, even on KTT.
But its fair to say nothing has done more harm to hip hop than bringing that type of fanbase into the mix, that's why "Eminem's influence" means nothing positive, when he essentially created the "death to mumble rap" crowd, that keeps dictating what "real hip hop" is, cause "rap is like a mountain."
Hip hop can do without that fanbase.
As a dominican I'm glad the hatred againt latinos goes as far as the "mexicans are rapists" guy being elected, because in retrospect.
Merengue, Bachata and Reggaeton has made it through their prime without being hijacked by culture vultures, who "don't see color" when its convenient.
I’m saying
“Here’s what they think about you”
None of them ever step in to govern racial epithets being used around them daily because they believe them
Don’t scream black lives matter to be trendy
Then turn around
And have nigga Nigga Nigga music playing in your training facility and your employees using racial epithets toward each other
AND NEVER SAY A WORD...
I mean....What do you want Edelman to do about black team mates calling each other nigga?
We reclaimed the word. It’s really none of his business.
a white dude helped Kanye west get noticed
Rick Rubin helped build one of the biggest record labels
America is a multinational country it’s going to have people of all races be involved in everything
Hey breh.. I’m not OP
I’ve already known this. Whites participated in the inception of hip hop & hip hop culture
Hip hop is white culture in black face
I peeped several black execs wondering whether label politics would change in the wake of all the protests and new awakenings all these companies were having 😂
You think anything changed?
OP had a realization a lot of blacks have in their early-mid 30s. Hip hop (Mainstream Entertainment as a whole) is run and governed by white people.
Hell of consumed more by white people

If what you got out of OP is “white peoples shouldn’t be allowed to listen to or be involved in rap” you are just deliberately missing the point and you’re part of the problem

Yeah I know this, and I grew up in the late 90s/early 2000s in a single parent house hold in a Spanish and black neighborhood producing, doing graffiti, writing raps, and studying the music / history of the music - that’s literally 4/5 defined elements of hip hop culture - so I don’t see how op applies to me, and I hate being excluded from convos when I probably had a harder upbringing then most of suburban users on this site

Keep that same energy!
A racial epithet is a racial epithet.
It’s just ironic how whites sit back and observe the word in and around them all the time and never step in to stop it...
My personal belief is you all really think we’re niggas so you never feel morally obligated to step in. You’ve created institutions (like Hollywood and the music business) that have monetized the word
How can whites, the domination culture and “moral police” govern every racial epithet except their favorite racial slurs of them all
The grand daddy of them all?
from a conscious perspective there will always be a racist element to white people supporting black celebrities who are not fully self-actualized and have a platform whose values reflect that
never understood why people don't get called out for racism when they make correlations between uzi/thug/future songs to ancient philosophers and religious beliefs for the sake of comedic irony and retweets
Wow yo. I’ve been thinking this for YEARS
Especially that last point. It’s all memes to them

True, I mean I can’t argue with that, also doesn’t help that there are a f*** ton of white people in America so when something becomes popular, statistically speaking, the majority race will be the biggest consumer
Def not arguing is doesn’t influence direction but I think the overall influence of the culture itself comes from the people who create it, not consume it. The consumption amplifies it to sometimes a negative effect and waters it down, but that’s the nature of the beast in a consumption driven market with a commodified good (music in this sense)
Cacs a plague.
Yep, all whites are the same, all whites are from america
lets be ignorant and fight racism with racism
I am very smart

Are you black?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way when I see whites get laughs for saying s*** like "Thug>>Beethoven lol xd" or "Lil Baby>>>MLK!!"
It's patronizing as f*** and frankly disgusting
Wow
I really thought it was only me who noticed that stuff

I said it but got killed for it

A racial epithet is not a racial epithet. Two black guys calling each other nigga is not the same as a Jewish guy being called a kike by a white guy or a Black person being called the hard R by a Chinese person.
It’s not that deep. He did the right thing. If ur not black just mind ur business when it comes to the N word.
Yep, all whites are the same, all whites are from america
lets be ignorant and fight racism with racism
I am very smart
If that's how you feel
It’s not a race thing to white people because they don’t want to admit that’s its purely just entertainment to them. Literally posts in the Thug v Pusha thread talkin about how they want to see thug shoot up Pusha’s next tour bus
And let’s not forget those white drill fans that were wishing death on niggas

You can’t say nigga on the 5 o’clock news my brother and if you look it up it’s considered a racial epithet
You’re generalizing and I’m being formal
All blacks don’t view or use the word the same
Again, are you black?
