earfquake (i just remembered the F , god i wanna vomit fr cringe ass Le raNdoM reddit s***)
singing is sooo bad like just use autotune dude
you can't say No Role Modelz is a bigger hit than Earfquake fader. Come on.
it isn’t?
name the non-R&B songs on there besides F2F, Nobody Gets Me, and Special (which technically is still R&B-esque)
The title track isn’t really an R&B record, Kill Bill, Low sorta isn’t, Ghost in the Machine, the ones you named, Forgiveless, Good Days is arguable
Are there elements of R&B throughout the album? Obviously, but calling it a straight R&B album is a disservice to how wide ranging it is.
SZA herself said she doesn’t view it as an R&B record, that’s just the box she gets lumped into as a black singer
Dude. Let's be real there isn't many in the industry doing what Tyler's doing. You also are not respecting his director craft either. - thr man literally directs all his videos. He picks the shots / locations/ ideas and everything. I will conceed he's just the next kanye/Pharrell but since when is this a bad thing? It's ridiculous to put this man in a box.
You said he could only rap so he put out wolf and flower boy. You said he didn't care about his blackness so he made igor and chromacopia
Cherry bomb is to a less degree his yeezus
But I'm just saying stop putting tyler in this box.
He is extremely talented and multi faceted and THATs why he sees success, not his NETWORKING or peers... the man came from hypebeast... just like cole came from cannibus fan site.
Stop this nonsense tbh, it's ignorant.
I can? It’s literally a Diamond record??
I learned today that people on this site think that something being acclaimed by its target demographic makes it a universal hit ig
it isn’t?
I’m so confused No Role Modelz is literally one of the biggest rap songs of all time lmao
Not many rap songs are 14x Platinum

To this day you can play this song within any space and if someone didn’t know it/like it you’d think something’s wrong with them
That’s a universal hit

Earfquake ain’t even Tyler’s biggest hit that’s the funniest thing. It’s See You Again

What a confused ass response lol you might be in the wrong thread
Just checking in but seems obvious his album came and went right or am I just not culturally aware? Don’t see this new project lasting like his last few

Nigga said Cherry Bomb is a poor man’s Yeezus where did you escape from?

They getting mad at me cuz this happened instead of listening to the damn album
this site the only place that hates this nigga with a passion.
I don’t think that most people hate him, I think they’re largely indifferent towards him
Earfquake ain’t even Tyler’s biggest hit that’s the funniest thing. It’s See You Again
Should note that NRM is clearly a rap song
Whereas Earf is a mostly sung song & Tyler took inspiration from Max Martin when making it
So the Cole song has an upwards climb in comparison just off that alone and it is still bigger
(Not a fan of 2014 FHD or the song, even though my old KTT2 username was 2014 UHD as a joke)
"carried by his relationships in the industry?"
I'm sorry, you're talking about Tyler?
Tyler?

Tyler?
Is Tyler not one of the most beloved rappers alive right now?

He's mediocre at best in everything he does outside of music. It's cool he's doing things others in the industry don't do but the praise is too much when he's not great at those things.
I stand corrected I aint know it was 14x plat
yeah that nigga Cole ass but he definitely got hits lol
remember hearing No Role Modelz growing up all the time

she majority of the the title track singing over a low filtered sample dawg what lol
Good Days and Low are 1000% R&B songs, the latter is just arguably over hip hop production, like most modern R&B is.
I already acknowledged the rock s*** but c'mon dawg.
His last 4 albums speak for itself tbh, he would probably be getting praised even more if not for his b******/goblin days which still has a lot of people side eying him
I don’t think that most people hate him, I think they’re largely indifferent towards him
also not true. look at his sales.
I aint subbing dude
Just looking back at that some of that list of current r&b esque artists and some of them reminding me why I hate COLORS/Tiny Desk-core music
F**k tom misch, Jordan rakei, mahalia, h.e.r., yussef dayes, CoZ, Inflo, jungle & any act that puts live instrumentation over great ideas
F**k any musician who listened to D'Angelo & Lauryn Hill a couple times & decided to contribute to the milquetoast bedroom-pup bootleg- neo-soul sound that's been going on for the past 10 years
F**k south london r&b, f**k Res for making this sound 23 years ago before all these clowns tried it (but at least she did it first & did it well)
F**k Gilles Peterson's current audience & any R&B act whose main audience is white women with a lauryn hill bedroom poster or 'vibes' playlist
I fw it tho lol
