Get a load of this guy
Brother I can literally break down who did what on the songs
I’m sorry but I’m not giving Ye a bunch of credit for telling Mike Dean to put a guitar solo on a beat. I’m giving that credit to Mike Dean for actually making the f***ing guitar solo lmao
Actually thats exactly why you give ye props like i said.
Not explaining why to niggas that never been in a studio why executive producers get the big credit rt @SegaDreamFlash
I think @edumist did some reflecting
I think he learned his lesson
Tell me exactly what “directing” means
Finding a sample and telling No ID to make a beat out of it?
Being given a beat by Bink and telling Mike Dean to put guitar solo on it?
I’m not saying Kanye didn’t put any effort into the album. I’m saying he didn’t do much production himself and the “he’s a sonic director!” s*** is goofy. Every artist that makes an album does that lol
We should be giving props to the actual producers who made the stuff. To this day people still think Ye produced Devil In A New Dress. That’s why Bink kinda snapped about it a couple years back
Every artist that makes an album does that lol
No they dont lol.
If every album was done like tpab and mbdtf then every artist would take longer than a year to drop a new album (and we all know thats not happening)
A LOT of niggas are being sent packs. Or someone on someone’s team found something on soundcloud and connected.
Everybody aint holding collaborative sessions where diff ideas are going in and out cause frankly that process is antithesis to the current climate in hip hop.

That nigga think someone like Lil Baby is “directing” an album

I clarified that in my reply
I understand what executive producing is. Laughing at my posts, Telling me I have no idea what I’m talking about and not even discussing or actually replying to what I’m saying is lame as f***

By your logic, film directors deserve absolutely no credit for what they do

Except i did do that @notbrock
Most modern rappers are just picking 15-20 beats they think are hot and putting vocals on them
That nigga think someone like Lil Baby is “directing” an album
They are tho? They’re literally picking beats, Recording, Talking with their producer and engineers, Bringing in features etc.
I’m not saying they’re good at it. I’m not saying they’re pushing the boundaries or have a grand vision the way Kanye or Kendrick does
By your logic, film directors deserve absolutely no credit for what they do
The inside joke is that Film Directors don't do anything.

Insane opinion to have

Because… Kanye and Kendrick are better executive producers than most artists… which is what we are trying to say

I mean that's just regular artist s***. What ye was doing on MBDTF is in a completely different realm than what ur describing
And I still think you’re being a little naive if you think most artists nowadays are doing all that, what Ye was doing on MBDTF
I mean that's just regular artist s***. What ye was doing on MBDTF is in a completely different realm than what ur describing
How so?
I’m not disagreeing, I just wanna know exactly why it was in a different realm
Guys I can literally pull up the track list, Credits and interviews with other producers who worked on the album to show who did what on almost all the songs
I think it’s cool Ye surrounded himself with elite level producers and musicians to put the album together. Clearly he had a vision bigger than what most other artists have and it shows. I agree I would like to see more of that
But again as far as the actual production on the album, The beats. He did very little
