It occured to me this year that ever since the Die Lit era all of Cartis videos are nothing but him and maybe some friends in one or two locations vibing to the music and perhaps engaged in some peculiar but simple scenario. Like in the Ketamine video hes in a dirty house with a guitarist wrestling a mattres. In their simplicity they create a strong sense of atmosphere that seems to always fit well with the song.

This approach is very different from pretty much all the big names in rap rn, and to me they are a testament to the clarity of Carti's artistic vision. Like Cole Bennet can spend his whole week rendering a CGI transition where Lil Yachty morphs into a hellcat or something but I'm still more invested in whatever the hell that Mercedes Benz branded table Carti fools around with in the Eviljordan video is.

How do you feel about his visual direction?

nothing revolutionary but there's effort, I like that
