The FBI and CIA have also been utilized against anyone who is deemed a threat to US influence. Organizations like the Black Panthers were targeted and labeled domestic terrorists by the US government because of their fear of a better future for everyone. At one point in time people who were even associated with communism/socialism were arrested jailed and ostracized. People like Dr. King were sent letters urging them to commit suicide and threatening to expose them for infidelity. Cuba was under constant threat of invasion by FBI backed coups (Bay of Pigs) although Cuba was a sovereign nation and should never have to answer to US imperialists. Fidel Castro had over 600 attempts on his life because he symbolized a future in which everyone was equal instead of power being held by a few.
