Trust me, if you heard the original JIK demo, you'd love it even more

Feel like the people hating this aren't really interested in atmospheric or cinematic music and they just want something that bops. Kanye can definitely still do that (Off The Grid, Heaven And Hell) but he used to be someone who cared a lot about merging those different styles together. As he's gotten older, his music has started to drift more towards the former than the latter.
I think this is a good thing

You can’t say this and not post the link fam

the typical expetancy for a drop
Yeah this album def felt like his most sad album after 808s
Lyrically it’s crazy uplifting tho
I understand about the feel of it tho, it’s somber for sure

What in the name of spoonman
A good chunk of the album feels like him tryna cope with losing his wife
Sounds like that and a cry out for his mom for guidance
The christian aspect seems secondary
Trust me, if you heard the original JIK demo, you'd love it even more
That demo was some ass
OP you should make a list with all the silence part, there are quite a lot
Heaven and Hell:
''DEVIL, LAY DOWN, DEVIL, LAY DOWN....''
Donda:
''What did I teach him, and why KanYE AIN'T SCARED''
notice how the silence starts after YE and not at 'Kan'
Yes totally. Sonically it’s the opposite of Graduation which feels amalgamous in its sound
Sounds like that and a cry out for his mom for guidance
The christian aspect seems secondary
thats how I interpret it, it's less a tribute to DONDA but mores about DONDA guiding him to redemption

Exactly, the album involves Donda way more than people give it credit for: coping with her loss, the heaven/hell theme, the massive amount of features(which I see as a way of Kanye supporting and putting light on other artists the way his mom helped him in his music career when he was young, like renting a whole studio just so he could make one song). This is as related to Donda West as it could be
