This s*** lowkey been giving me nightmares lol it’s a rare horror film that shakes you to your core. It’s so raw and unnerving. The pacing is absolutely perfect as this grim/macabre feeling keeps building up over 2.5 hours. Performances are absolutely incredible and the religious imagery/tradition it draws on are 100% accurate and clearly meticulously researched. The writing, dialogue, cinematography, character development and deft camera work all come together to make something greater than the sum of its parts.
Idk about greatest but I just rewatched about two weeks ago and the way they build up the uncertainty about who the real villain is is fantastic
That movie was so funny to me
The scene with the two cops during the rain storm
can anybody co-sign OP opinion
It’s one of the best I’ve ever seen. It’s legitimately incredible.
It’s basically a supernatural version of Memories of Murder.
One of the best horror movies of the last decade for sure
It’s like 4 horror movies in one
The scene with the two cops during the rain storm
I f***ing cried when they fought the zombie
This runtime long but
Oh it flies by fast af. The sense of dread just keeps growing and growing up until the last seconds of the movie. If you like horror movies it’s simply a must watch.

Real. This is very random life experience, but I’ve been out in the countryside at night in China and Thailand and it’s creepy AS F***. Ancient cultures with long standing spiritual traditions have some crazy energy that we just don’t understand here. Something about this movie just felt so goddamn real to me. So f***ing good, I can’t wait to see Hong Jin’s next one.
