I hope this lil case of the week episode with Eugene tryna find Stephanie isn’t where the rest of this season is headed.
This last arc is making The Commonwealth look a lil too evil and Maggie m, Daryl n em are the good guys. The show has never been this black & white when it comes to morality
thats one of the good things about the show and they’re just abandoning it entirely in this last arc
Finished this up. Series finale was good but lame. First off RIP Rosita
she should’ve made it. I did not like how things with the Commonwealth was handled. Felt like the writers phoned it in. It was such a contrived plot. Felt like they went out of their way to make Pamela n Hornsby unlikable, so we got no choice but to root for Maggie n em. Even with the Whisperers, you could still root for Alpha cause their concept was just different/so out there it’s a good “what if?”
I get Commonwealth is suppose to be a piece of “the old world” surviving. But they didn’t really cover any of that nuance well. The s*** with Hornsby n the CIA guy was interesting but felt half heartedly tact on. I think I would liked this better if it wasn’t serving as the final arc. Would’ve preferred this Commonwealth arc & Whisperers arc switched places.
Overall enjoyed my watch. Season 5-6 would have to be my favorites. That period of them being on the road leading up to finding Alexandria was so raw
That group was so cutthroat and elite.
I still think it was trash for Carl to die when he was supposed to takeover as the leader eventually. Also the Alpha arc was his story too and neither Rick or him were part of it which was also dumb
Did they ever say why they killed him off
Maggie should have killed Negan. Ain’t no reason for him being alive. If they wanted to keep him alive, they should’ve had him go to the west coast or Canada orsome s***. It just ain’t believable that Maggie is forgiving him. If I’m lil Herschel, I’m taking him out soon as I got some peach fuzz
Is World Beyond and Tales of the Walking Dead worth watching? I already plan on rewatching Fear The Walking Dead.

They just fired the actor for reasons idk tbh

I swear to god they're setting them up to f***. It's so forced how Maggie hasn't killed him yet in every situation she should have by now. I don't care how popular he is he should've died in the comics and show. The redemption angle wasn't pulled off good enough it doesn't feel earned at all
They ended Walking Dead to do:
Rick & Michonne spin-off
Daryl & Carol spin-off
Negan & Maggie spin-off
All they really did was split up the group. S*** didn’t end at all

S*** makes no sense
I understand Rick & Michonne getting their own show but the other 3 should’ve just gone off together (Daryl show is solo now bc it’s in Paris and Melissa McBride didn’t wanna move)

It has to cost them more to launch 3 different shows instead of just giving each actor a pay raise to keep them all in one

I think they just noticed that The Walking Dead was declining in viewership so to revitalize the ratings, they take the most popular characters and give them spinoff shows

Doesn’t that split viewership now people can just watch the show with their favorite characters in and skip the others

People are more likely to checkout a new show vs a show which is 11 seasons in. It's sort've like a soft reboot to get the interest of old fans that stopped watching and potential new fans

I see that does make sense. Less intimidating to jump into

Nah, more profitable to split them up, provided none of these are complete duds. Think like a tv executive/business owner. Instead of 1 show with all these characters, now you got 3. That means you can sell ad space for 3 shows as opposed to one.
I went on The Walking Dead subreddit. Spoiled Fear, and World Beyond for myself. Still planning on watching World Beyond. From what I read, I should’ve actually watched it before or during s10 of TWD. Sounds like it’ll have a tie in with Rick & Michonne’s series.
Fear, idk if I’ll get back into it. The consensus seems to be season 1-3 being the shows peak, which I agree with tbh. S4 when they more or less kill off the entire main cast, I dropped the show soon after that. Adding Morgan to the show was horrible. Changed the entire pace of it for the worse. Idk if I wanna put myself through it just to get caught up. I might just start from the latest up coming season.
I had forgot about the web series/short episodes they had. Seems like they never developed any of those plots n ideas any further. I remember Fear had that airplane group that was suppose to join the show but idk if they ever did.
Might check out a couple Tales of TWD episodes. But from what it sounds like, it doesn’t give what it’s suppose to…

But how about production costs? 3 different film crews + new casts and locations
Having to spend on marketing for 3 shows vs one
Was pretty disappointed with 11b and 11c tbh. Some good moments here and there. Hopefully the spinoffs are good
