I think The Weeknd was inspired by him for Trilogy and the longer songs on albums like Kiss Land, beatswitches etc.

Yeah some of those epics on Kiss Land like Professional or The Town are awesome too

But there’s just something so epic about JT and Tim and as awesome as Abel is, I know without a doubt he will never in my lifetime craft a song like What Goes Around or even that outro off Lovestoned.

Imo, After Hours was the first great record for The Weeknd post trilogy so his pop efforts have always been a mixed bag to me though he def has great songs
