Critics LOVED Astroworld for some reason, and while I do enjoy the record, it gets samey samey around the midpoint. Nowhere on this album did I ever feel that vibe and I feel like the sequencing of the songs compliment each other sooooo much better than on Astroworld.
this.
the f***ing pop songs even blend well on this project
You thinking of Snowchild, right?
Yeah the “every month another accusation, only thing I’m phobic of is failing” line. All that twitter yeehaw must’ve really got to him cause it’s basically slandering his name over a line they misunderstood
It just came out.
smh haven’t even had time to digest the music yet.
Early review copies
"The Weeknd’s strongest record in some time, but still there’s a nagging question of what’s to come. Because once you go pop, and then back to your roots, where exactly do you go next? "
This is so accurate.
The answer is to new producers

Definitely many critics probably didn't expect/want the album to be good, but they can't deny it.
Yep. Can’t deny a phenomenal album.
this line literally means that he wants to have a threesome and he'll f*** a girl straight (normal f***in male and female sex) while the other b**** rides her face.

I mean yea if the likes of Cardi B is more in your wheelhouse and makes for more compelling albums, then sure thing

First time poster, long time browser.
Anyway, was checking out some "reviews" for the album and two stood out as interesting to me. The one that was posted earlier, which had a clear SJW agenda. But also, another I just came across, in the form of an op-ed that, apparently, wrote a review based on Disney Stan commentary on Twitter.

"What do the lyrics mean? The real question here is, who cares?"
Grade A "journalism", folks.

I’m one of the few Cardi fans on KTT my guy lol, but to say her debut is better than this is bit of a stretch don’t you think? Same could be said for the plenty other critic darlings doe tbh
Only used Cardi as an example cause I knew niggas wouldn’t react, if I were to single out a KTT darling they’d be quick to unleash they twitter fingers on me and I’m not here for the back & forths today my g, so s*** is what it is

This s*** a 10/10 for me weakest song imo is “Save Your Tears” but it is growing on me. Had this entire album on repeat all day. Will be a true classic one day when it is said and done.
