Facts man
Tbh I’m not even looking for some dark demented s*** at this point.. just want good world-building and narrative
My take is that he essentially killed off The Weeknd character in 2014 in order to achieve the pop success and never looked back.. ppl eat up the generic love song lyrics so why even bother to craft cinematic/literary masterpieces. Now he can just be himself and sing about his love life wit his high-profile supermodel gf & make way more money
I would probably do the same nearly 10 years into the game tbh. I think any fan that wants a 30 yr old man to make the same s*** he was making when 20 yes old is delusional, but the decline in overall quality of work is still disappointing. Grateful for the first four projects tho cuz they are all timeless classics
the good thing is even if he never reaches the quality of his early career his current stuff is still much much better than most others in the game.
idk bro this a smooth experience, KL takes a L cause of its total length (pause)
Kiss Land takes an L because of Live For
After Hours doesn't have anything nearly as bad

Live For is overhated
it's actually decent but the chorus
HoB
Thursday/Kiss Land
EoS/Starboy
MDM
BBTM
I will say I’m surprised u would put Starboy and EoS at the same level tbh
Crazy, to me, Next, The Fall and EoS are amongst the best songs off Trilogy. He showes his most vulnerable side on there and I feel like the songs convey a lot of emotion. I really dig that.
Don't know how anyone could rank this over BBTM, literally baffled
I know
"Only losers go to school"
He just dropped an entire album what more could you want?
I don’t even like him lmao. Just speaking from the point of view of his fans who clearly thought it was new music
the sequencing of this album does wonders when you listen to the album front to back it's like half way through the synthwave influence kicks in and then it goes full 80s with in your eyes and then it goes back to synthwave and ends.

yeah the sequencing is strong as f***
My mans is really tryna clown me for saying this is Abel's best body of work besides the mixtapes. I will admit that Kiss Land has better songwriting. The Town is probably the best written song in his discography. But After hours as a whole is better. There are no bad tracks, and can argue that there are on kiss land. I dont even have to argue about BBTM or Starboy because those both have blatant bad ttacks.

Kiss Land been out for 7 years and is still fresh.
After Hours been out for 3 days. Too early to say it's better than his OG work.

Its probably just me, but I cant vibe with most of the tracks after love in the sky. Only Pretty and the second half of Kiss land really stand out to me
