House of Balloons
Echoes of Silence
Trilogy *
Kiss Land
After Hours **
* I see the impact and existence of Trilogy as something parallel to what each tape set for themselves. Thursday didn’t achieve what HoB or EoS did for themselves
** too new
How can you quantify what each tape did specifically individually lmao they were all huge with big songs & all came out months within each other
Those 3 tapes by weeknd & NU + CO by Frank literally changed the landscape of RnB, & made a generation of kids aka my gen class of 2014 as a whole interested in RnB again which was falling out
It revitalized & reinvented a genre
RnB would have died terribly if not for Weeknd (and Frank but this thread aint about him).
Literally made a gen that overall didnt care much about RnB get into it again whilst changing the sound that still exists today.
BBTM hate
S*** was fire especially at that time
“Fire” =/= classic
And it’s not fire regardless

the-dream deserves hella credit for the change in r&b's sound too. drake too obv

I think Thursday is the second least discussed album amongst ALL his projects, only after MDM.
His studio albums either were absolutely massive and flagships of his career, or they it was Kiss Land
Trilogy was this compilation of “amazing mixtapes”
HOB was his breakout and EoS was an amazing closer to the trilogy. Thursday is the forgotten middle child of the projects he made before mainstream fame, so it’s simply discussed the least regardless of its quality
BBTM
Doesn’t change the fact that it was wildly praised by the GP, and the singles it spawned were some of the biggest of the decade. It’s my least favorite album but I’m just talking facts here
I know BBTM is his worst album
That doesn’t change the fact it was a mega hit across the table
“Fire” =/= classic
And it’s not fire regardless
I agree but that’s one I would call a classic
nah ur on to something BBTM might be a classic
nearly every song on that album was a SMASH
You get it
BBTM

And you’re the racist Morgan Wallen fan that called people who don’t know who he is “St Louis slum kids” correct?
Don’t like dudes taste in music but he is not a reprehensible person such as yourself
IMO hob/thursday/eos prolly all classic mixtapes.
trilogy is a classic album.
kissland is a kind of a cult (?) classic that his fanbase really really reveres but lacked the worldwide impact his next projects had.
bbtm is a dope tape to me that had insanely huge songs that were played everywhere.
starboy had a lot of huge records same way bbtm did but i think most people enjoy that album a little bit more than me.
after hours will most likely end up as one cause it has the crazy huge singles but also was received really well universally.

nah, youre wrong. that's @Leif_Erikson92
after hours just not all that fr
glad it speaks to the ppl but it ain’t close to what he’s capable of nor does any of it personally resonate with me
the chromatics remix and one of the bonus tracks come close tho
