Every studio album from him it's different. From Alt R&B to Cyberpunk-ish production to Pop to Alternative Pop to Contemporary R&B to Synthwave/Retrowave/Post-Punk and New Wave.

This man has vision and let me tell you as a Frank Ocean fan, this dude is different.

The sounds, the lyrics, the aesthethics, the feeling.

    Mark my words.

    See you in 2030.

despite what I say this man has been a legend because he created a whole new genre, made depressing music cool, branded XO, has a distinct voice, and has numerous number 1s

I don’t know what op was smoking when he decided to make this dumb thread

Bro, i know he's been a legend, but that's on his fanbase. I'm talking about public perception, that's different, don't twist my post for your convenience.

  • May 23, 2020

lowkey he's underrated because not a lot of people talk about the fact that he is constantly changing.
there's not one project that sounds like the one before.
moreover, he's changing the game even now.
he made synthwave mainstream in 2020
by 2030 this nigga will probably have 10 #1s, a whole cabinet of grammys

Personally I don't see him as a legend yet. If he continued with the genre defining thing he got going in his mixtapes, or even the debut too, (a thing he had going on, but that he interrupted halfway in), if he continued that lane, and only perfecting his craft by getting better as the time goes by, and pushing the bar higher and higher, then yeah, he would have become a legend.
Is he among the hottest current superstars? Sure, but "legend" are a pair of big shoes to fill.

A condition to be a legend, (at least in my book) is replayability. If you think he's a legend, ask yourself, how many of his albums/songs will not lose replay value 30, or 50 years from now? How many of his albums/songs will inspire the next guy to start writing music in their attic, and recording in their cellphone?

None of his projects have replay value EXCEPT all three mixtapes and kiss land

So according to your dumb theory this still qualifies him as a legend

    Congrats you played your self

    Mans been a legend

  • May 23, 2020

Would be surprised if he is widely considered a 'legend' in 10 years. We don't have new legends these days.
