Views is 6x platinum and Starboy is 4x platinum
People have been playing Starboy way more over time though.
1x of that 6x Platinum came in Views’s first week, and it had a seven month head start on Starboy.
In October, Starboy passed Views as the most streamed album of 2016, and now it’s the first album by a black artist to ever reach 10 billion streams on Spotify.
Starboy has been in the Top 10 most streamed albums on Spotify all year, and Views is nowhere near it.
I think it’s safe to say Starboy has been the album that people have gravitated to way more over time

Sadly they won’t admit it 🫤

how can you talk about head starts when he has just re released this album this year?

He re-released it one month ago, but the original album has been consistently streaming within the top 10 on Spotify for almost a year now:
It was also making leaps on the charts last year:
That was all way before the re-release or Die For You Remix came out.
And finally, it also passed Views as the most streamed album of 2016 in October 2022, five months before the re-release.
good album but "i swear too much on the regular" is still one of the funniest serious lines ive ever heard
False Alarm would actually be a decent song if there wasn't that "FALSE ALARM HEY HEY HEY HEY" part strewn across the whole song :

Never really gravitated towards Views as I hoped I would. Still go back to some tracks every so often but I’ve always gone back to Starboy.
S*** a vibe.

I mean couldn't you just say drake gets way more plays on Apple and at that time radio and is therefore 6x plat? Purely making that take off 2016 Spotify numbers is a little gratuitous
Side note: Starboy easily his best album

I’m confused as to what you mean?
My point in that post, if I remember correctly, was that Views is 6x Platinum, and 1x of that came in its first week and it had a seven month headstart on Starboy. For further numbers, it went 4x Platinum in December 2016, and only hit 6x Platinum in September 2019.
So in the album’s first eight months of its’ lifecycle, it went 4x Platinum, and in the three years after that, it only went 2x more Platinum.
Starboy, in comparison, only did 348K first week, and reached 4x Platinum in April 2022, almost six years after its’ release, only 2x behind Views. And the album has had a huge year this year so its most likely even closer to Views now, which has most likely went up as well.

I don't think it's that confusing cuz you clarified your assertions with your latest posts lol.. all I'm saying is drawing the overall conclusion that "starboy is the album most people have gravitated to" is a little gratuitous considering the rerelease and overall numbers... to say nothing of the impact views had on other artists work at the time.. Starboy is phenomenal but views aint nothing to step over all I'm sayin
