Lyrically or sonically?
Imo lyrically he is way more vulnerable
he went from “theres jus something that i need from u is to meet my boys, i got alot of boys” and “dont make me make u fall in love wit a nigga like me” (dont get me wrong hes always been vulnerable like on eos title track and the knowing n stuff)
To
“Its 5 am, im nihilist, theres nothing after this”
And “i want to love you but im out of time”
He jus sounds so defeated lyrically on this
he always had dark lyrics but he reveled in it before. Now it just seems like he tired of it all
what song
I was not referring to a specific song ... It was an example
Yeah, this isn't hitting for me unfortunately. The production is crisp and cinematic and I admire the concept but sonically, nothing has really grasped me like tracks should or usually do on an album via the first listen - let alone Abel who I am a longtime fan of. Maybe I'll spin this in a couple of months and feel otherwise.
For me it’s definitely not, it’s on par with AH for me on first listen and will probably grow on me, but I saw mixed receptions in this thread so far from fans
Definitely more positive than negative on here

Unfortunately, outside of 3 or 4 tracks, i gotta agree. We'll see on further listens

CKL devided on this
Best Friend -> Is There Someone Else the best transition?
This part I do alone
I'll take my lead, I'll take my lead on this road
And I need something to hold
Make me believe in make-beliefs
'Cause after the light, is it dark? Is it dark all alone?

thought campari would fw this
Its just enough artsy and just enough pop

He went off on this lyrically. Honestly might be his most well written album
The "I can't be with you" bridge on I heard you're married is so unnecessary and basic and takes away some of the quality
