Beauty Behind The Madness is an average album and probably his worst project imo, but it has some of his best songs. Idk how to explain. It’s too inconsistent.

Tell Your Friends, Hills, Earned it, Can’t feel my face, Acquainted are all 10/10 songs but it starts off so meh and jarring with Real Life and Losers and the last 3 songs are ehh. The Ed sheeran song still pisses me off

the whole premise of your argument is faulty

no-one cares too much if there are a couple of Trilogy-esque songs on an album full of pop or it's an entire album of pop

going from an album like Trilogy/KL to an album which is 70% pop (and badly executed pop at that)

is a much bigger f*** you than going from an album that is 80% decent pop to 100% pop, most of which is pretty good and very dark in its own way (if Acquainted gets a Trilogy pass, then I'm giving Gasoline and ITSE one too)

I have mates who started listening when HOB dropped and completely lost interest after KOTF geeking out over bits of Dawn FM

if that doesn't show the nuclear fallout of BBTM I don't know what does

It was his first take at becoming the artist that he is today. You can see the improvement with every album now.
