Ngl the acronyms for the new song titles kicking my ass rn
Same lmfoaoo people kept saying EAIT and I keep thinking it’s escape from la
aight here we go again is growing on me
this was happening to me this morning
just breathe and think about how good it would be if Out of Time flowed straight into Is There Someone Else
you'll get over this inshallah, I'm rooting for you
Forget bout what your daddy said I’ll teach you how to shine
only Abel can say line like that in most polite way
Ugh the lyrics and writing is so good
But I just can’t connect to it with this production
Gasoline and how do I make you love me are a strain of electronic music I’d like for Abel to play in more
Similar to odd look in a way if that makes sense
Idk what that influence is but I wish he’d stay there longer
I think a lot of us real musicheads needs to understand how we are in the minority in being able to listen to everything and understand what it is we are listening to. Taking in all the lyrics.
Some people will only hear an um-tempo beat, because the production is what you hear first, and then the vocals will come in and they think "this is catchy" and vibing to the song. They are not really grasping the song or album on a deeper level though. Because their mind just does not work in that capacity. They dont get the same out of the music as perhaps people that really love music do.
We have different taste and so on, but we still can enjoy the same thing or different things whether you are musichead or "casual". How we interpret and process the music we hear in general can also be quite different, even if we happen to like or dislike things.
You said it! That’s part of what I love about this site, you have people that genuinely love all aspects of music and like to discuss everything on the table. You go on social media and it’s just weirdos looking for mood music, a catchy hook, “bangers” etc.
A lot of people genuinely do not care about the complexity of music and I think that’s why MDM, AH and Dawn got so much flack from them. I applaud Abel for turning away from his basic pop sound on BBTM & Starboy and instead putting his soul in full projects again, with the sound HE wants to do. He’s not catering to the public, I can’t tell you how many times he’s probably seen or heard “go back to trilogy weeknd” and he just doesn’t, I love that so much. He’s evolved into such a better artist for me these past few years that I almost feel betrayed by what he did on BBTM & Starboy - aside from a few phenomenal tracks of course but the overall whole package just feels so much less artistic than what he is doing now
