Ok so I now have the way I listen to this. Dawn FM till Sacrifice then Best Friends till Don’t Break My Heart. Rest of the tracks don’t do it for me
album needed a twisted 6-7 minute dance song kinda like after hours near the end
Idk what it is but Abel just sounds so much more confident and sure of himself as an artist on this album compared to After Hours
I love After Hours so much, but he just sounds like a different beast on this album I can’t explain it
To me, After Hours felt like an album he had to prove himself with. Gotta remember before AH there was no Blinding Lights, no Super Bowl, no major Billboard records, etc. He still had something to prove with that record and obviously he knocked it out of the park
Whereas with the record? He doesn’t have to prove S***. He said I’m gonna drop what I drop and y’all are gonna love it. And guess what? We do.

it would have made it too copy cat
we kinda have it in Is There Someone Else/Starry Eyes though

Couldn’t have said it better myself
You can really hear that in the first song of each record
Alone Again starts with his vocals very muffled and hard to make out, almost like he was trying to still hide behind or blend in with the production almost
And then on Gasoline he comes right out the gate with a low register British accent singing “ITS 5AM MY TIME AGAIN IVE SUNKEN UP THE MOON CANT SLEEP”

Timbaland said Chris Brown should be on the remix of I Heard You're Married. Not a bad idea tbh
While CB would kill it, he has this weird tendency to not being able to stay on track with the theme of a song (this is coming from someone who is a fan).
Don't you dare touch that dial
Because like the song says, you are out of time
You're almost there, but don't panic
There's still more music to come
Before you're completely engulfed in the blissful embrace of that little light you see in the distance
Soon you'll be healed, forgiven, and refreshed
Free from all trauma, pain, guilt, and shame
You may even forget your own name
But before you dwell in that house forever
Here's thirty minutes of easy listening to some slow tracks
