this really is such a divisive album
I feel like most of the people who dont like this album are the stans who want him to do his old r&b music. of course there are some who just dont like it. But I think most of people think the album is good/great.

I don’t think its exclusively that
Its very sonically different to ANYTHING he’s done
After Hours still had elements from older music but was definitely sonically better
This doesn’t have much from his older work, and thats okay. Its natural for artists to progress
Thats why I think people find it not as good. It’s a complete drift away (not lyrically)
Having said that, I see the appeal and I’m happy for the fans who enjoy it, and I’m happy for Abel cos its the album he’s always wanted to make

yeah Dawn fm is pretty much the opposite of trilogy so i think the few amount of strong trilogy fans that thought AH was good have mostly all left after listening to the full on pop/dance album this is
