yeah i dont think people realize that upbeat doesnt equal happy.

the tempo is fast and i guess more upbeat but everything is dark and grimy and disgusting i dont see how these people process the music ngl

Imo purposeful contextualization its a very limiting view in art and kinda a detriment to the growth of an artist though. For the sake of keeping a wide perspective, i like treating every album like isolated bodies of work. It benefits both the listener and and the artist.

context harms the art imo thats why pitchfork so trash and thats why ppl keep complaining about trilogy
