I feel like lots of pop songs do thati hate this most times but it works on the right songs. like you couldn't come up with two extra bars
but it's usually just conscious smart pop songwriting in order to beat the hook into your head lol

Take My Breath starts with him presumably walking out of town after After Hours, finding that underground party, and then temporarily dying which is why the video ends like that
Sacrifice starts with him in the purgatory area going towards the light, then waking up back at that party, and then being taken by that weird cult to be sacrificed…? and then he gets consumed by the light
And now Gasoline starts with Old Weeknd driving, crashing, waking up with Gasoline playing on the car radio (implying that he is also in the purgatory state), and then going to that underground party and being killed by Young Weeknd
I’m just very confused where Old Weeknd comes into play in all of this and if that party is actually purgatory itself or not
Old Weeknd is the symbolism that elderly people can get lost in a club if they leave their senior residence.
