Well for starters the production on Dawn FM is pretty substantial. Listening to the instrumentals of some of these tracks you can hear how much detail and nuance was put into the progression of the songs. DS4 has some hard beats but that’s all they really are you know? They don’t really take you anywhere vs. a song like Every Angel Is Terrifying that takes you on a musical journey to like 7 different places in the span of 3 minutes. It’s a production masterclass.

DS4 is a good album don’t get me wrong, but it is one of those playlist type albums where you’re meant to just put a song on and let it rock, which is fine because that’s the purpose the album serves. But IMO trying to craft an album like After Hours or Dawn FM that tells a story throughout the record lyrically and musically is much more impressive and makes for a better album experience.
