I wish you made it more fun for me.. when my goal was to receive and consume your new body of work ultimately.. just finding something to complain about

the overall experience leading up to an album is just as important as the body of work itself sometimes

I understand the perspective, I just think as time passes, for me personally.. you could do these things pre or post release and it would be just as fun to consume.. taking kanye’s events for example. Of course the utility of previewing records is lost.. but it would be a small amount of enjoyment lost.. again, that’s just me. Just make cool s*** for me to consume.. the pacing and sequencing of events, etc is often lost in time.. idk

if that's how you wanna consume music, that's cool.

but I disagree with a rollout being lost in time because that kind of thing is important to me.

not saying every album has to have an extravagant rollout, but with Dawn FM being a concept album, felt like it could've been executed way better than it was.

I loved TMB from the start. It should have been way bigger. The charts are so weird in the US.

Out Of Time is also great. It should be doing way better and the music video is dope.

Sacrifice is the one that I like less, he should have released a remix with Dua imo.

for me, this was easily the worst roll-out. the best one being AH, followed by Starboy.

For an album that clearly sounds like it was made to dominate charts and radio, it’s unfortunate to see it making like no waves.

In terms of the rollout, Abel dropping his least hip hop influenced album (in terms of music and production) against the first big hip hop album of 2022 was a big misplay. I think it turned off a lot of casuals who usually check for the weeknd away from Dawn FM
