@sab Now that proof has been given, I am admitting I was wrong, and I appreciate you for taking the time to explain encoders using clear examples even after my hostility towards you earlier. I’m sorry (not being sarcastic this time). I hope we can be civil moving forward.
oh yea no problem dude! i should've provided proof in my first post instead of being a d*** & saying "i know my s***" as my source, so that's my b, but i just hate taking so many screenshots & embedding them in long posts most of the time unless i'm on adderall, so proof would've been tough to provide on the spot
it's a super common misconception though, like i see people saying "16kHz shelf = 128, fake 320" very often, and as someone who knows that's far from the truth, it really bothers me sometimes lol bc then other people see that & think that's the truth & it spreads
specifically with Nothing But Net (the first example i provided) i remember downloading the 320 off Southside's soundcloud since downloads were enabled, and people were like "don't bother with it, it's a fake 320, Southside just ripped the soundcloud file from Travis's soundcloud and reuploaded it, they both shelf at 16kHz, so they're the same" and i didn't realize the truth until years later lol. after that, i decided to make an effort to shut that kinda misinformation down if i saw people spreading it because, as someone who archives loose tracks in an artist's discog as a hobby, that misinformation nearly made me lose a higher quality file for one of my favorite songs at the time forever
y'all say this s*** every rollout it's getting tired
breaking news pop artist and his label promote his album to the fullest extent
also abel's progression to this sound has been a long time coming, from Starboy to MDM to the current era you can see it forming in bits and pieces

exactly.
people will be so surprised that the lead single is fully-pop, radio friendly and assume that he's totally succumbed to the expectations of labels/industry
love this
Speaking of... The Short film actually released two weeks before the album
We are eating really soon
I don’t agree with this at all.
It's quiet the contrary if you're asking me, it looks more and more like Abel is getting to do the album he always wanted to (creatively)

Exactly lol. I think after having one of the most successful careers of all time so early in his life, his label let off the whips before MDM dropped
Him being engaged with fans through memento mori and spinning some hard ass music makes me appreciate this era even more

Plus he finally have access to all the gear he could've dreamed of as a young man in his 20s and now also having perfected his craft. His ability to create a cohesive body of work that is interlinked has been very visible over the last couple of years. He is not excited and opening up for no reason. Let people speculated over the first single, we are about to eat, trust me

its exactly how i predicted when BBTM dropped
he “sold out” the smart way. Now hes puttin electronic producers like opn on in the mainstream and making art films.
He just had to get his guap up and show these dudes hes an ARTIST. Not no katy perry type pop star. Such an inspiration man. Him and frank are 2 dudes in the game that are just literally all quality

And Memento Mori is another testament to this, look at the diversity of music he is exposing people to. Other artists would probably only play label affiliated artists or something within the same genre. MJ and Prince did the same, brought cultures together under the wings of "pop" music.

Facts he EASILY has the best beats1 show. The best episodes are always when hes mixing. I heard he got OPN to help to.
yea hes def on a MJ/prince trajectory. Bringing the subversiveness back into pop music. like when u compare the weeknd to pop stars, hes literally the opposite in almost every way. It shouldnt have worked, but dude too talented

I always put it like this, imagine you're a chef and your speciality is pasta dishes. Everybody knows your dish is the bomb but you wanna grow beyond that, so you test out other cuisines... For instance the Asian one, they have noodles but it's damn sure not pasta for the pasta lover, so they complain. The chef is still on a journey to find the right flavours and when he finally arrives at his goal he will not only have brought something new to the table but also brought a whole network of people together that would never have met otherwise cause they thought the other one was so different... But here his love for pasta got them all together, leaving them to only say "THIS IS IT, this is what he was trying to do all along"
We will eat soon Fam

Bruh if this tops after hours as an album

Abel literally just said in the GQ interview that this is the album he’s always wanted to make and he’s mentioned many times he’s more inspired than ever, this has f*** all to do with the label

This discussion and the whole Max Martin topic is getting tiresome.
Album needs to drop at least 3 weeks before this or 3 weeks later
