They've all been characters
i mean i think trilogy and kiss land were moreso based on his real life, i was mostly responding to the comment "the weeknd is already a character why is he trying so hard to be another character" by saying he's done that before and throughout his career
love hearing In Your Eyes on the radio
what a great pop song
all the pop records i hated initially but they all grew on me very heavy
heard in your eyes in the grocery store the other day i couldn't believe it

It's so funny to me that I'll never lose that "Oh wow it's The Weeknd!" moment whenever I hear Abel on the radio, even though he's a superstar. Just one of those things I'll never get used to.
I remember Crew Love was the first song I heard on the radio and I lost my mind

Totally this
I love how as fans we can still feel the novelty of his music even though he’s become a huge popstar

It’s because a lot of his records have pop appeal, but his personality hasn’t really changed. Him being excited about kiss land love, being a film buff, kinda doing his own thing... he’s been the same person throughout except with gaining stability

It’s so nice. Although I think I enjoy hardest to love the most but that one always kinda gets me simpy

I think the most telling thing is he has the same team as when he first came out, besides 88GLAM and Omari Shakir lmao
also 24K is more funk revival than disco lol can't really think of any disco songs on that record
yea my bad lmao, im tripping this morning

that's a good point too. Its a very tight nit group of people. One thing ive also found interesting is he doesn't do a lot of collaborations within hip hop especially on his albums but he always brings in left field producers like kavinsky, daft punk, skrillex, ohnotrix point never
if the next album gonna sound like tha calvin harris song, big in. regardless what it is, still in
So this the new look?
I think it honestly could've been a one time thing for this Time stuff.

Without him being able to tour and film the videos he planned to, maybe it is coming to an end. He’s not pushing any single and keeps performing Blinding Lights, almost like a victory lap.
I don’t mind if early next year he starts up the next era even though I adore this one.
