Idk bro. I know some projects hit harder depending on what someone might be going through in life. BBTM hit me like a truck once I got to Angel because I was going through some really rough s***. MDM would have put me flat on my face if I was going through the same s*** I was when BBTM came out. I could see how some could enjoy it more than his older projects

thats a valid thought i think Mdm was pree solid & sonically sounds like a polished version of old dark weeknd so if they heard MDM first that could be why its ranked high for them
